I'm stuck at home and BORED!

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

My daughter broke her leg at school, so I am at home with a drugged up sometimes cranky, sleepy 9 year old.

She is sleeping now and I should be cleaning up, but I am procrastinating. LOL

Anyone else sitting around bored and procrastinating?

(Zone 7a)

Me!!!!!

I quit my job recently and now I have to make up stuff to do. I've been thinking about finding a part time job just so I WON'T be bored! LOL

Cranky children can make it worse, though. I feel your pain.

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

I have a small at home business and even have an order I should be getting done, just don't have the will.

Hobbies, we need more hobbies. LOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Boredom sucks. My boss called, he's getting ready to board a plane to leave a week long conference he's been at. I told him there is absolutely nothing going on and he said, "Well finish your day and have a good weekend." gggrrrrrrr

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

So, you can chat on his time and not your own. :)

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL! He doesn't sign my paychecks, I work for the State. I just don't have to burn any time off, I'm trying to build it back up after surgery took it all.

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

I should be working too, I have an online shop and make tote bags. I got an order yesterday for a bag I sold a few days ago, so at some point today I need to get that sewn up, but I am severely lacking in motivation today!

Hope you are feeling well after your surgery.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I had an appendectomy on July 27th. I'm way over it but I had 2 weeks vacation built up and 1 week sick leave built up, plus a plane ticket bought and paid for to California for a few days to visit friends, and it took every bit of my time off. My boss gave me some of his time so I would get paid when I went to California. So far I've got 15 hrs vacation and 3 days sick leave built back up. I've been here 1 1/2 years now so it should start building pretty fast.

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

I am glad your feeling better. The only surgery I've had was 2 c-sections and a breast reduction and all three I recovered from really fast!

(Zone 7a)

Still bored. I took a nap but even that didn't help.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

It's just a bored day. Big Time. I think I'm going to ask the boss if I can leave early, I can't handle it! LOL

(Zone 7a)

I would. There's no point in hanging about with nothing to do.

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

I have spent so much time farting around on the web today. I keep looking at my store, still haven't finished my bag. I was a featured artist on Etsy today, so I have had a lot of email to answer.

Still have no desire to accomplish much...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yay Congradulations! Your bags are beautiful!! I've been so bored with nothing to do all day I don't want to even go home! Now that's bad.

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

I was bored at work today...I'm still bored. Think I might crawl into bed early and watch a movie. After pizza dinner though LOL!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL. Glad to see I'm not the only one bored today. Right now I'm watching Endeavor getting ready to launch.

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

crissyr, thank you very much. I was excited to be featured till I found out I had to post my picture. LOL I ended up having my 9 year old take some. They came out ok and fun, nothing too serious, it wasn't so bad...

The picture will be here http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=21136
for two days if you want to see the face behind the words :) If you click on it you get to see my full face (I'm hiding behind fabric in the first).

We got away for a bit today to see the orthopedic surgeon, and her leg looks good. As long as it knits well we are ok :) :) :)

(Zone 7a)

I love your bags. I think I've seen them before. Did you post some on another thread?

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

kwanjin- I can't believe you quit your (fabulous) job.
tombaak- cute picture- and what a stash of fabric. I can't believe I hardly sew anymore. I just DG and fool in the yard when I'm bored. and work on stacks of books and mags from my sister.
It sure is a drag knowing you should be doing something but really not feeling motivated.
planning dinner may be my most boring daily chore. the other noxious daily chores- I have eliminated as much as possible (cleaning organizing , putting on makeup and earrings...)

(Zone 7a)

Sally, my feet and my back were telling me every day to stop all the running, running, running! LOL Too many surgeries on the feet have taken their toll.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Well, I don't have a cranky 9 year old but I do have a cranky and bored 61 year old who is temporarily confined to the house and a wheel chair with no ramp to get him outside for awhile. LOL he is worse than a 9 year old and a lot more demanding...wanna trade?

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

Hmm, we are ramped because our daughter uses a power wheelchair, but I am not sure I want to trade.

I think I'll stick with the crank I know. LOL

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Satori broke her leg? Bummer. Does that mean she can't get out to the Dragons lair to chill out?

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

She is stuck in bed :(

My husband moved a bed into the living room, so she can watch tv. I've been sleeping with her in the queen bed, her sister has chosen to sleep on the couch to be close to her too. My (lucky) husband got sent upstairs to our bedroom for snoring. LOL

So, no one is chillin' out here!

(Zone 7a)

Poor hubby. ☺

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

Poor? He got to sleep in his own bed! LOL

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Don't sound poor to me! LOL

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Hah! Get him some Breathe Right strips and trade off with him :~) So how long will the poor girl be stuck in bed? I know from watching her make a wish video that she is a ball of fire when she is up and about in her chair so being bed bound has got to really be getting her down ( and making her cranky ) Daddy shouldn't be "isolated in that peacful bed all alone...he is missing the joys of a cranky 9 year old...For his sake you really need to switch places...out of the goodness of your heart of course...

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL!!!!

Melissa, how is Tori doing today?

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

She is doing much better today, she is even in her chair driving around a tiny bit :)

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

I'm so excited! http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-149778
Here is a tiny bit on me in conjunction with CNN's story about handmade gifts. :) :) :)

Melissa

:) :) :) Happy dance (: (: (:

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Melissa, congratulations on your success with the totes. It is always good when a person can earn money doing something they enjoy. My daughter brought me a small bag from etsy with a gardening motif and her one with the skulls like in your pictures a couple months ago. I wonder if they were yours.

I am happy that Satori is doing better. That makes for a happier time for the whole family. I know when one member is down it takes a toll on the whole family.

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

Just catching up (had a gardening mishap). I am SO happy that Tori is able to buzz around and hope that she heals quickly. Major Kudos on your Etsy bags, having gotten some of the little pull string bags from the marketplace here, I know that you do excellent work. Looked them up and are they cool :)
WOO HOO.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Melissa, is Tori still doing better? I just wanted to check on things. Also a big Congradulations!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here checking on you both as well Melissa...update on Tori please...

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

Tori is doing much better. Her follow up x-rays showed LOTS of healing! She was up and around quite a bit today and has quit taking the codeine completely and is just taking over the counter pain meds.

This is our first night with everyone sleeping in their own beds. Whoo-hoo

BTW, her class decided to hold off dissecting the owl pellets till she gets back :)
