took the pup out and not to much snow but its wet and heavy tree limbs are drooping
I had to put my sheltie to sleep on Friday so just kind of mooped around here all week end ;0(
If you have to go out on the roads to day be safe I have to go to work but its only 3 miles away
Gloria
summers over!!!!
Glevely... I am so sorry about the sheltie!!! I know how you feel we went thru that a couple of years ago. Im sure you did the dog a favore.... I mean by that he/she mustv'e been very sick. Ours was and its a very hard thing to do. I will be thinking of you in this difficult time for you. At least you have the puppy to bring joy to the house. I also am a lucky one to live so close to my job. I live 1 mile from the hospital I work at. Love living so close don't you? Especially when the roads are crappy. Have a great week everyone. Snow is forecasted everyday this week. Ronna
Good morning everyone.
It is still snowing here in AuGres but so far the accumulation is only a couple inches at most. It's still coming down though so who knows. I bought the grandbaby some boots and snowpants so maybe she'll get to try them out today. We've had her all weekend off and on. Saturday we took her to the tree lighting and caroling in town and we watched the Santa parade. We then went to the pavillion and stood in a long line to see Santa Claus. She was so excited. It was really nice. They gave out raffle tickets and gave away a lot of turkeys and gift certificates. We all had hot chocolate and doughnuts too all compliments of the Chamber of Commerce I think. The kids got stockings with candy and crayons etc. in them. I was so beat by the time I got home I fell asleep in the recliner. :) I think I should have had grandkids about twenty years ago. ha ha ha
Dusty, I'm glad you got all moved and settled before you had to go back to work. I know what a job that is.
Gloria, I am so very sorry about having to put your dog to sleep. I know how hard that is to go through. A dog's only fault is they just don't live as long as we need them to. I'm sure the old sheltie is at the Rainbow Bridge with all our angel furkids to welcome him.
Have a wonderful rest of the day everyone. Enjoy the snow.
Brenda
Gloria,
I'm so sorry about your dog....that is a very difficult thing to do and very painful
for us as well. (((((((Big Hugs))))))).
Dusty,
glad your all moved and getting unpacked...soon spring will be here and
you will be house hunting again and it will be much nicer out!!
Sarv,
I can't beleive you guy's have a snow day already....I'm hoping this winter isn't to bad
ughhh how I dread it....yes it's pretty at the "first" snowfall and maybe a Christmas
and then I'm all done with it....LOL we finally had some that stuck to the ground here
and the roads are slushy maybe an inch or 2?? so I guess I have that to be happy for ;o)
Dori,
where ya been ??? My aim is goofed up thats why I haven't been on...ughhh
I tried reinstalling it but it keeps doing the same thing when I click send it sends my
message twice...very aggravating!
Stay safe on these roads everyone...
People forget how to drive in this stuff
they think there at the Datona 500 or something...YIKES
Delane
Yes you are correct about that. Many slide offs and fender benders around here also.... Welcome to winter huh? it has been snowing here all day basically. Had to dust off the car when I left for work and when I left work... YUCK! I am tired of it already. Brenda sounds like you little granddaughter really enjoys being with you and your hubby!!! You had a very nice day with her. Someday I will enjoy the grandkids also. I am really looking forward to them. Have a great evening. Ronna
We just got back from Tennessee this afternoon and there was a few places in Kentucky that was getting snow, here all we have is a dusting, don't know what the am will bring.
I couldn't get on line where we stayed so I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, I know I sure did ^_^
Well stay warm & safe. I off to bed its been a long long day.
Connie
Nice traveling for you Connie. Kinda wish we had relitaves out of town to visit. Well our son is in Iraq but that would be quit a long distance travel. He will be home for a visit this weekend---for two weeks!!! I want to hug him so bad! All he will do is roll his eyes! Don't know if he will like the snow after being in the desert all this time. Dreeding that I am sure. We got a couple of inches of fresh snow yesterday. Pretty, but it can leave the roads. Lots of slide offs. Tow truck drivers are glad I'm sure, Ronna
i miss the michigan winters. I have missed the last two now. Winter is more like a leafless perpetual fall here in NC. easy driving but nothing pretty to look at. boooo.
Its been a a few weeks since i have been on dg. we are going to be getting internet back at the house really soon so then i can get on here and see whats been going on.
hi dori!!! long time no chat.
michelle
Oh Michelle your not really missing anything!! Cold and dreery.
oh for sure...trade yeah...lol
snowing and blowing to beat the band. We already have some small drifts. This is the first real snow
that hasnt been a heavy wet snow, so its blowing and drifting
My DH had to work today again-more Christmas money! Im home with the boys watching the birds
come to the feeders.
I found a bunch of clay pots i didnt know i had in the cellar. I got bulbs (good deal i had too)this week from Bleeks classified ad, and i took them to the cellar to store them for spring. Cause im not going to try to drill through frozen
ground(till spring anyway) when I put them in there i saw 3 stacks of clay pots. So im going to maybe do some more of those out of magazine decoupage. I ask for an acrylic metal paint set for Christmas, hope i was a good girl this year!
i have all my Christmas shopping to do yet-gag! I did get me a pretty planter of the marketplace here(i know)
so that is wrapped and under the tree UNNAMED and driving everyone nutz!! luv it luv it!!!!
so what up in your world
It's snowing hard here in AuGres too. Not sure how much we're supposed to get. We're hunkered down in the house playing on the puter or watching TV. No plans to go anywhere or do anything.
I'm glad now I bought those driveway markers with the reflectors on the end of metal poles. I lined the driveway all around with them so hubby can see where the driveway is to plow. Last year he got way off and plowed the lawn. :)
We don't buy a lot for Christmas..........mostly for the granddaughter. I did some shopping online. My son wants a heated mattress pad for his King bed. I love shopping on the computer. It's so much easier than trapsing all over some big mall and fighting the crowds. I think you spend less too by not walking around a store. You get on and buy what you're looking for, pay and get off. :)
Stay warm everyone. It's a soup and cocoa kind of day.
Brenda
Back from shopping and I vow to never again go on a Sat. The crowds were awful and the roads the pits too. We've had snow non stop and now the winds are blowing it all around. Salt/sand trucks are only putting down stuff at intersections...if then. And no plowing on secondary roads on the weekends! Whoopeee....sounds like 'snowed in' time!!
I know the same around here about the plowing. I am glad we live on a state highway during the winter. It does get plowed. So at least we can go to the store and stuff. I am pretty much done with my shopping. I really want to find a digital picture frame for my two daughters. They are kinda pricy. But maybe if I keep looking for one! Boy I hear you all the wind is howling and blowing. My son is suppose to be coming in from who knows where. He has been in Iraq coming home for two weeks. What weather to greet him huh? I hope the plane can make it okay. Haven't heard a sound from him yet. Waiting anxiously...... Ronna
gardenlady....do some research on those picture frames. A friend of mine got one (off brand) and the pictures look awful - all red and funky tinted and stretched goofy. I read that Kodak was a great one, but since I don't have one, I am just repeating what I read! I'd love one too!!! Give your son a big hug from me....our troops are so important to our country.
Thanks so much sarv48!!! Very sweet of you to say so. I know I see the support all over. I tell him how proud people are of the troops all over our little town! I heard from him finallly. He is in Georgia! He will fly in tonight at the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International airport around 8:30. He sounded really tired and yet excited. Been on the plane for the most part of one whole day. We are going to have a welcoming committee there for him. Ronna
wow what a week to much to do at work thecomputer has been on the fritz and all this cold
so glad your son is home tell him for me THANK YOU AND GOOD JOB!!

Huggs to all... Freezing here... more later....
Morning just came in from the morning puppy thing its cold and clear here got some light fluffy stuff I think this is going to be a big snow year my flower beds are all snug under all that snow HAY WHEN IS SPRING ANY WAYS??? Got to get ready for work have a good day ;0)
Gloria
We're under a winter storm watch...we're on the border between heavy snow and freezing rain. Should be interesting!! Sure seems like we have been having a ton more storms than usual...or is it just my old age? Wish I could just go to bed and wake up to spring.
Morning everyone,
I think it's safe to say we'll have a white Christmas this year unless we get a real heat wave between now and the 25th. The weather forecast is calling for a winter storm with around 6-8 inches of snow. We're such a small town they never mention us in these weather reports so I'm not sure just how much we'll actually get. I just have to look for Tawas and guess. :)
If you have anything to get or do better get out today and get it done before the snow starts up. We'll just hunker down here and watch movies on tv I guess. I might get out my little Christmas tree and put it up. I have to be in the mood to do that. I dread dragging the stuff out but once it's out and plugged in I love it.
I hope we keep our nice blanket of snow for the winter. It helps protect our plants and soil. I have a pesky rabbit that comes in the yard at night to hunt around for food. I have my roses all covered except for the climbing roses. I meant to wrap them in burlap but never got around to it. Maybe I can trudge out there and spray them with Liquid Fence. I see his tracks. I wish some coyote would eat him. :)
It's a chile, hot cornbread and buttermilk dinner day.
Stay safe and warm!!
Brenda
Nopers.. It's a Great Northern Beans and cornbread day ... LOL
Well it started early and has been coming down pretty good for hours!
We shall see if the weather dudez got it right or not come tomorrow ;)
Yep sure looks like a white Christmas in the forecast this year
We had orange chicken tonight and leftovers tomorrow and the
homemade chicken noodle soup-homemade noodles are so yummy!!
Im waiting for the heat to come on again to warm up my pj's....brrrrrrr!
looks like snowmen will be popping up all over the neighborhood this week ;)
stay warm
storm was a bust here .....just rain. Bet the kids are mad..they wanted a snowbday!
Come up here. We have 6" and it is stil coming down.
I was lucky enough to have the day off today, but worried I may get called in, as somebody may not be able to make it in. Hubby took the 4 wheel drive to work.
Reminds me of a few years ago when everyone was complaining about how we didn't get snow anymore like when we were kids. Well, the last couple of years is making up for that dry spell.
It's bad on our side of the lake too.
its 9am and my mercury outdoor light is on!!! its not really snowing now
Hey duck is it snowing over your way still?
10am and it has become pea soup fog here
the temp has fallen 2 degrees to 34
Guess everyone is hibernating today ;)

it's rainy wet here just a little snow here, really ugly and gloomy out :o(
Not fun driving in it.... Think spring, think spring, think spring ;o)
I may bake today!!
Dori, home made noodles...mmmmm....
Chicken noodle soup sounds good today ;o)
Stay warm and cozy today everyone!!
Went for a walk in the woods. Boy, that was a workout. There is the old snow with the new snow and it was knee deep. After a mile of that crap, I sure had my workout.
Then I had to clean the house. Hasn't been good and clean sence before hunting season. (and we are counting bow season) Ugh, I am so tired now. Was going to get some shopping done, but the stores are safe from me. Looks like about 2 or more inches fell while I was cleaning, that makes 8" so far and coming down fast.
Now I guess I will have to shovel. Ugh.
Soup sounds good. I may put some on the woodstove. Or maybe chili. What do ya think?
SNOWING HEAVY AGAIN
time to make the soup
Hey, Dori it's 80* here and the sun is shining, LOL.
Lucky lucky...fog and cold rain here..no sun....wah wah...send us up some ok? smiles..Diana....waving from the cold north...
Great picture. Looks like you are enjoying the snow. How much did you get today?
We are looking at 10" of new snow last I looked. Seems to have slowed down some. Thank goodness. I think that was enough for now! LOL.
Up here in my neck of the woods we got socked.
We took a road trip to Weidem to a christmas tree farm. The roads were all snow covered we just put the truck in four wheel drive and went for a little adventure. Got a beautiful 14 ft,white fir aka concolor, they smell like citrus. For only fourty dollars. We also helped the owner herd some raindeer into a trailer that was taking them down state.
We have so far 14 inches and it is still coming down. so I do believe it will be a beautiful white Christmas.
Amos
Amos, your tree sounds really nice. Is it some kind of new hybrid? Never heard one smelling like citrus, bet it makes the house smell nice.
You would laugh at our tree. It is 10 feet tall and only 2 feet wide at the bottom. We get them out of the woods and they are quite the conversation piece. LOL.
We got about 14-15" total. That is a lot of snow for this time of year for sure. Wish I was off work today to take pictures.
The sun is shining really bright today and it is blinding bouncing off the snow. I think our total is around 9-12 inches. We're going to Tawas today for my doctor appointment. I'm sure the roads will be cleared by this afternoon if they aren't already.
Only about two weeks till Christmas. Is everyone ready? I haven't put up our trees yet. I need to do that tomorrow. I have a gingerbread house kit I need to put together before the granddaughter comes over. I'm letting her decorate it. She gets so excited I think I should do the assembly before she gets here. We let her help decorate a tree at her daddy's house and she started putting on the ornaments before we had the tree put together. :)
Enjoy the snow everyone and stay warm.
Brenda
