Wanna see. Wanna see.

I agree I wanna see.

I'm going to post that collage in a larger format, heck I can hardly see the writing on the pics myself... and I wrote it!

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Ohhhh.... how exciting! What a pain that it has taken over a year to get the settlement. Congrats!

here's the collage pic in a larger format.

maybe I can see it now.

I agree.....how exciting! congratulations from me also.

rc...such a pretty kittty. Two of mine are inside, one (who came from the field behind the house) wouldn't go out if you left the door wide open, maybe if I was there, but I doubt it. The other one is a different story, she isn't so bad now but I still keep a water bottle by the door. Usually when she does get out, she looks around like she's scared to death, starts meowing and heads straight back for the door. She's never gone off the deck, panic sets in before she gets that far.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Hey all, just got home and trying to read everything, you all been busy as always.
Hi, Wanna and Willow.

Yes I still have a few Dals still giving their best. have been waiting for that one to open, seems like for ever. LOL

Love the coat story, I am in my car a lot as I comute. I have a basket that I carry that I think has just about everything plus more. If I got to go on 'Lets Make A Deal' I would have what ever he would ask for LOL. And old Camera is in coat pocket always.

Love the Kitty, on tour of the porch. I could not read the one. With her and the chair shadow, I would of put ' Okay mom I can't set in that one, can I come in now' Funny

Did you know I have one that can read. LOL

She's very cute Tilly. What's she reading? :-p I'm sure that she'll do well on the next spelling bee.

Sally... Yours sounds to be the perfect combination of curiousity and reality! I wish mine would get scared and come back. If she hears a noise, her hair stands up and she bolts.... anywhere . However when she's tracking down new things she's becomes clueless of her surroundings (if quiet) and thinks that any animal is a friend!

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Look at what she is sitting on, LOL making her list....

I have 2 others that if they hear a car come down the drive, they are gone and hidden, never to be seen until that strange person leaves, whats funny is most times it is someone they know, they still hide.

I found this for those that want to play or learn ^_^

Eugene, OR

I don't trust the one that gets out. Luckily she scares herself and runs back in!

Didn't tell you about the bus trip. It was a mystery trip from Willamalane Adult Center. We get on the bus and don't know where we're going. Everyone tries to guess, it's fun. We went to the college and saw what they're doing to Robinson Theatre, it's going to be great when they're done. They have a costume workshop upstairs that I would love to have. Big airy room, lots of windows, tall tables, plenty of storage, etc. Then we took a tour of KLCC radio station. They're in a new building downtown, very nice. It was interesting to see the station working, didn't realize how far out their signal goes. Next stop was the Oakway Mall for lunch, our choice. Then of all places, we went to the Market of Choice on Willamette, I was surprised how many people hadn't been there. For our out of town people, this store has a fire place in the coffee shop, comfy chairs with tables. You can go upstairs to the balcony and overlook the whole store. There's a huge deli, a great bakery, and a cheese shop. I took my sis there when she visited, with "You've got to see this grocery store." It caters to organics and is a little expensive, but the produce is great and usually you can find those ingredients that you can't find anywhere else. Ended with a trip to Metropol Bakery (we skipped this one).

And the weather was dry as promised. Not too warm, but dry.

Eugene, OR

Tills that gives you a place to test things, but doesn't tell you how to do it. I'll have to look some more.

Pretty kitties. the rat looks like it found a sunbeam.

I'm off to bed also. 'See' you tomorrow.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Tilly, I did notice the catalog, almost off the bat. What a plant cat already!

What an interesting trip Sally. I would've never have thought to make a trip out of those places. Ok, well definitely Metropol... but not really the others. However, I can see where it would've been interesting for me. Did they give you any free samples at Markety of Choice?? Sure hope so. Really the only time when I can afford to justify shopping there is when it is an item that they're one of the only places to carry it, but I sooo love it when I get in there.

(Judi)Portland, OR

I have two big fat cats. At one time when I lived in So California in the mountains they would be outside all day and inside at night and they were trim and fit. Then I moved to San Francisco for work and lived in the city and they were confined to the house and they became lazy and fat fat fat. Now they can play outside again but they are a little timid - startle and any sound. They seem to feel safe on the front porch and will venture around the back yard. I have to encourage them to go out - brings back memories when I told my kids to stop watching television and go out and play!

Sally that market sounds amazing. When I drive past Eugene next weekend on my way to pick up my parents in Tahoe I must find that store. How would I get to it from the freeway?

The fires in California are horrible. Very scary for all those people. My daughter in Santa Barbara was evacuated but her home is still standing. Now her cell phone is dead and the electricity is down. Everyone is trying to use their computer battery as little as possible. Very bad situation.

Love all the cat pics and the wedding ring - how exciting!

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Red, The deal is it has a zip in liner with two pockets, an inner pocket, to hip pockets and two breast pockets. I used the inner pocket to keep extra money, passport etc, that you’re supposed to keep safe while traveling, and then the general stuff in the outer pockets.

Sally, it can get pretty heavy, but you only really notice it when you take it off, it was also bulky. Considering I weigh 120 lbs and my back pack we carried between hostels was at least 40 lbs, I did mind the small weight while I was walking around.

Here is a slightly better picture of the rings, they’re Star Sapphire and Silver. I’ll try to get a picture of DH’s ring too.

Portland...I'm keeping those in danger of the fires in my prayers. Went through that with my sis in Bonsall, she was evacuated twice, but everything was fine. Have you got a gps? I can give you the address, otherwise I'll figure out the route. That isn't one of my shopping places, but Rite Aid is right next door, so I stop in for last minute things sometimes. It's just a neat place to poke around in.

zhinu, though rings are beautiful!!!! And what a great picture.

rc...it was fun at the theater, I love seeing behind the scenes stuff. And learned some things at the radio station. One time we went to a phone museum in Eugene and once to a yurt factory in Cottage Grove. We do the mystery trips 3 times a year and so far it's been somewhere new each time.

It was dry today, but cold. I put bean soup in the crock pot and took a day off, tired from yesterday I guess.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Sally, try this one.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Sally the bus trip sounded like fun. Glad you had fun.

Love the Ring, Sapphire in my birth stone. Good job on there choice.

Port, all my best wishes and prayers to your D.

Miss Sassy ( the one reading) is my shadow in the yard, no mater where I go she is there. She is the best gardening buddy you could have, to a point. Don't turn your back on fresh dug soil with seeds. LOL ' O'boy new potty stop' And if its not her its Miss Tilly the youngest how seems to find everything she can get into.

That kitty has the most beautiful markings!

Thank you tills, I'll try that one.

(Judi)Portland, OR

That ring is beautiful - the sapphire is an amazing color.

Sally just give me the address and I will Mapquest it - thanks.

Love the cat pictures!

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I didn't know what I was getting when we walked in. I knew I wanted blue, green or pearl, but I saw that stone and knew instantly that it was the one.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Ohhhh.... Portland, I forgot to ask earlier. How is your daughter in Santa Barbara fairing? Hopefully you've been able to reach her and the fire(s) haven't went through her neighborhood.

(Judi)Portland, OR

rc - my daughter is fine and her neighborhood is fine. I think the wind is finally dying down but I actually have not checked today. Her phone is working again and she promised to call if things get worse. Thank you for asking.
Wasn't today beautiful? I sat in the yard and watched my fat cats roll about in the sun.
Zhinu it must be really nice to look down and see that beautiful color on your finger!

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Portland, yes it is; I also stare at the movement of the star.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

I have always loved the Star Sapphire, no matter how you move, it moves with you. And you will always have that feeling that someone is watching out for you. God speed to you both.

Eugene, OR

That last link was the one I needed Tills. I figured it out, but it's such a bother, I doubt I'll use it much.LOL But at least I know how and there was a lot of other things that I learned. I had seen that once when I first joined DG but then later I couldn't figure out how I got there.

Portland... I sent you a Dmail. Glad to hear your DD is out of danger.

zhinu...if I had that ring, I'd look it at all the time too.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Sally, I probably should butt out, but just out of curiousity.... did you tell Portland the route via 30th Ave? When I was just learning Eugene, that was the easiest way for me. Although there are plenty of other options.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Glad that worked, I have very seldom have needed it, but there as been times I wish I could remember how. LOL

Eugene, OR

I didn't really give her a route because she said she would mapquest it. Wouldn't give that way? It's the most direct from I5. I just gave her the address. And don't feel you should butt, two heads are always better than one, right?

Portland...excuse us for talking like you're not listening. LOL

Did you hear about the severe fog warning for tonight and tomorrow a.m.?

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

oh... my..... gosh...... Sally....I experienced that fog warning!! I left for home from Eugene tonight at 9:30 this evening, it was not the worst fog that I've driven through. However, it certainly was more than worthy of the warning!! I need to go back into town tomorrow morning. I'm supposed to leave at 8:00, but I'm thinking that I'll tell them that I'll be a little late. The difficult part is that it's hard for me to judge when it's starting to lift. It'll be a beautiful, sunny day here and 15 mi. down the rd. I drop into a fog bank. :-p Anyhow, thanks for the heads up, I hadn't heard how long it was supposed to last.
I don't know what mapquest will give. sometimes they give the shortest route, other times it seems to give the route with the least amount of turns. Either way Portland... If you can deal with Portland driving, getting through downtown Eugene will be a breeze if that's the route that it gives you.

It's always been my experience that two heads are collateral for an excellent answer! lol

Eugene, OR

The warning was issued until 11 a.m., not that that's any help. I know it started getting foggy here early, I'd been out in the yard all day and had to quit early because it got damp and cold. Plus I was tired.

(Judi)Portland, OR

Thank you for all the hints about getting to the market. However, I went online & found out that there is a Market of Choice here in Portland about 6 miles from me. I am going to check it out today when I go to get all the non-perishables for Thanksgiving. I am having 14 people so that should be fun.
It was foggy here this morning when I woke up but is dissipating quickly. Another great day in store for us!

Bend, OR(Zone 5a)

It's almost 70 here right now. Feels like a summer day! Wore shorts yesterday and heading that way right now!

Gardener.... I want your temperature... it's 48 here. Burr... but sunny, so that's good.

Great Job to all from here on the photo contest. I hope that the PNW is has more up there next year. Either way, it's fun. Tilly you're gonna make it there!

Portland, let us know how that Market of Choice is there. They're all different. There's 3 in Eugene, all are good in very different ways. One of them has the one of the best wine selections around. The one that is close to the UofO has an ambiance that is fitting for being on campus (for lack of a better term--'hippyish'), and the one that Sally mentioned is newly renovated and has the nifty coffee shop and balcony, etc. It's the largest and carries the stuff that I like the most.... unless I'm looking for wine :-p I can't believe you have that many for dinner, ugh. But, good luck. I hope that it all goes well. We'll have 9, which to me is a lot.

(Judi)Portland, OR

rc I have 7 kids so for years I always had 9 for dinner!
Didn't make it to the Market of Choice today - will go tomorrow. I spent too much time buying wine. Found out that if I got a case (12) they would give me a nice discount so with Christmas coming.....
Has anyone had good luck planting blueberries? They are not a menace like blackberries, are they??

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

I have five bushes and they have done very well here in Silverton.
I give them a good helping of steer manue every winter and that's it.
They were abundant and yummy this summer.
They are a bush and not a vine. Not any trouble.

Eugene, OR

Congratulations picture winners!!

Portland....like rc said, each store is different. And I can honestly say I've never been in a store like this one. If yours is fairly new, maybe it's the same. But if you walk in the door and don't say WOW! it isn't.

rc..don't know what happened up there, you should have been in town today. It got up to 70, worked in the yard most of the day again. It was sunny and beautiful!

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

That's true Portland, I keep forgetting that you raised 7 kids. How could I forget that!! Which may also help explain why you have 14 over this year :-p Blueberries do very well here and are not a menace. I think that Southern Highbush varieties tend to do better here because they require less chill time than the others. However, we usually get enough chilling hours for all types. Have fun at the Market tomorrow.

Sally, I don't know what happened with the temp either. I'm always a happy camper though if it is sunny and at least 30 deg. Glad that you got to be out in the yard. I bet it was fun!!
