Here is another one of Nana's Garden Poems

the grove

each row of solitary mercots
ends in blackened indigo
and to the east
sunflakes drown
in vortices of wasting mist

where cirri straddle heaven’s meridian
ladders march
three strides apart
then peel off to obscurity
in jaws of rustling green

men mount sweat-cured wood
groaning within the long bone
straining from lumbar to shoulder
--the epochal hum
and profound collective sigh
that baptizes men and dawn alike

I have that same saying Willie!

Gordo, I like the term "sunflakes"... I've seen sunrises like that, just a glimmer of light here and there in the misty dawn... :-)

I, kind of, know what you are talking about in the above Poem--but it is really SO "Cosmic".....can't think of another way to describe it! You have used words that I cannot relate to.....and I am pretty good with the English language.....

When I was in nurseries, you have dozens of customers that want "the perfect tree"....lovely, green, maybe flowers, but absolutely NO litter. If they turned down more than 3 suggestions, I'd tell them I had the perfect three for them "Pinus Alcoa" --- the aluminum Christmas tree.

Yeah, I hope all is ok with each of them! I saw Patti post not too long ago, but Candyce and Sherrie haven't responded to d-mails I sent, so I don't think they're logging on. I miss them all too!

Saw this one on a clock in a catalog...amazing I even noticed it.... teeny tiny lettering and they didn't list the quote in the description of the item.
