Well, tonite's meeting was not bad. Even though I feel like (#&^, I wanted to hear about Wichita Falls. The club itself did pretty good, but they were saying the turnout was only about 60 people? That can't be right, can it? Do they maybe mean the number of people who entered in a category?
In tonite's raffle, I won a Jolly Dollie and a Strep. Purple Panda. I would take a picture, but I can't find the camera batteries, and the batteries in the camera die each time I push the Flash button. If I can't find the other 2 batteries, I will pick more up tomorrow, so I can take a pic.
Edited to say that this is NOT the same Jolly Dolly in FC. The flowers are pink, the tag says it is a "new" Pittman, and is a S-M.

Gail, I couldn't go to the meeting Monday. I had a cold and didn't want anyone to catch it. Good to know about February.

Found PPanda in Plant Files, only one photo from Cedarnest, such a pretty Strep! I think I remember someone else besides Nancy posting a photo of Purple Pandaon one of the threads awhile ago but I may be thinking of a different purple one.

Pretty neat website, it was a first for me-- I like the ebay vendor rating they have!!! Another good one is Gesneriphiles mailing list-- comes to your e-mail--lots of interesting posts there.

I don't post either-- feel like a dummy compared to those who do post--but it is very informative!! Loved the pic of the bat pollinated gessie.
Do you end up with hundreds of e-mails to read through?
No--maybe 10 a day sometimes more--usually less--A lot of hybridizers are there tho-- the last post was from Leong Tuck Lock answering a question about Aeschyanthus, plus lots of cool photos. I set up a yahoo e-mail account for those type of things so my "real" e-mail doesn't get filled up with group posts(plus the hughesnet e-mail takes FOREVER to load)-- I belong to several groups some are on Yahoo--others like this one are not--anything I REALLY want to keep-- I e-mail to myself at my other acct. There is an episcia group on Yahoo that has worldwide live chats every Sat--last week Thadd Scaggs was the "guest".
Oh, Thank you Gran ... I have a yahoo e-mail account that I never think about ... I think I will sign up right now! I will search for the Episcia Yahoo group while I'm at it!

When filling out the info it asks "Would you like to receive list mail batched in a daily digest?"
I'm not sure what daily digest means?
That means all the mail at one time-- if you chose that you only get 1 e-mail each day-- but you won't get the photos.
Ok, Thanks ... I'm not choosing that cause I want photo's too! LOL.
