What is a "friends list?"

Would someone explain the "friends list" feature.

I think Dave may have more plans for this in the future, but for now the only thing you can do with it is use it to send d-mail "blasts" to multiple people at once. So if you make a group of friends, you can send a dmail message to all of them at the same time. The trouble is when they reply, they can only reply to you, there's no "reply to all" sort of feature on it. So for a one-time message that you want to get out to a bunch of people it's very useful, but if you're trying to carry on a group conversation it's not as helpful.

Thanks so much for the answer. At least I know now that I wasn't missing out of something very useful.

Works great for Round Ups & other group things.
You only need to type one D-mail & send to the whole group.
If you want response from & to each other, start a thread somewhere & Blast D-mail your group. They can then have discussion on the thread.

Lots of ways to use Dave's if you have imagination.

I thought the friends list, was like having a buddie, if you came up missing, or am I wrong???

I don't know how that would work.
It is a list of people you pick & place in a group.
One group I have is anyone who ever came to the Round Ups at my farm.
In the group, you can click on any of their names & their page comes up. You can then D-mail them or other things.
If you want to send something to all in the group, you do a blast D-mail.

tilly--I think some people have an unofficial list of contacts who they list on their member page in case of emergency, and on some of the regional forums maybe people have set things like that up so everyone can be accounted for after natural disasters/storms/etc, but the only formal type of friend list that I'm aware of on the site is the one we've been talking about for the group d-mail function. You could of course ask the people in your friend groups to be looking out for you, but that's something you'd have to discuss with them, it's not automatically a part of the friend groups feature.
