Well it escaped--but the mailbox guy laughed at my wrapping job. It is hard when you are at work and have to improvise....Was also warned that it may not arrive at its destination until the 5th.....so you have time to buy more locks for your doors.

Wow isn't the word for it. We won't be having Christmas this year. Too much money went to surviving. Plus now DH has to buy a new alternator for the truck. No extra cash. Really sucks.

Rhodiegirl - I dmailed you back and no worries, see the dmail because I made a mistake too and now everything should work out fine.
FYI to all, the normally 33 hour road trip took 47 due to horrific conditions and freezing rain for 14 hours straight and we had to stop every half hour to clean off the windshield and headlights to be able to see. I have never had such a horrible, scary, difficult drive in my life. But we are safe now. I will be on sporadically, and back after the 30th.

OHHH the horror
I had my gift nicely wrapped and ready to ship, did not want to ship early cause I did not want it to haunt my person and I was hauling it around in my truck to get that good ranch smell for affect... ANYHOO I had it in my truck and was going to mail it after I dropped off my saddle to be fixed.... WHEN out of nowhere came a @$#(%& driver who cut me off and made me slam on my brakes... I watched in horror as the box slid to the floorboard and my saddle slammed down on top of it.... When I got to the saddle shop, I moved my saddle and picked up the box.... It was making a strange noise... I opened it and my gift was in a zillion peices.... I went back to the store where I got it and explained what happened.... They looked high and low for another just like it and had none...
OK plan B... running thru the store like a mad woman, I gathered up nice POULTRY Themed items (See I was listening sorry no cheeze" to replace when I had got.... Now when I get home tonight, I will wrap carefully these said items and ship them tomorrow....
SO SORRY my friend, if you get it early and it sings to you "OPEN ME OPEN ME" and if it follows you around, just shoot it.... LOLOLOL

When they found her she was wrapped in a quilt sitting in her recliner with a dazed look on her face and the shotgun still smokeing!!
The policeman asked her DH what happened and he said "I was in the kitchen when i heard her scream and then heard a shot and when i got in here she was holding the shotgun and there was a hole shot clear threw that present"
The policeman ask her why she did it she said ""Missjester told me to shoot it if it started saying "Open Me" and it did!!
As they were putting on the strait jacket in the ambulance you could hear her saying ""Can't you hear it!!""Can't you hear it!!""
When the ambulance pulled out of the drive you could see the "glint" of a brightly wrapped present clinging to the bumper!
Ohhhhh, what next?? It’s like a movie! Does the present get in to the padded cell? Does it take out the night guards and make its way down the hallway jingling the keys it took off the now tied up floor nurse. (Biting nails and fidgeting in seat!)

We had another snowstorm now that we are here but today it is nice and clear. I hope that the drive back will be better. I took my car into the VW dealer here to have an oil change and get it checked over before we headed back. I figured after what we went through, it was probably a good idea.
I can't hear my package talking to me from here. Therefore for everybody with talking packages, I can assure you if you are 2000 miles from it, you will not hear it! LOL!

My package arrived in the store yesterday, I get my mail at a country store.... The man went to hand it to me and said are you going to open it?? I said why has it been asking for me to? He said something had been mumbling he just could not understand it...
I took it to my tack room that is safely on the other side of the house by the back door and propped it on the saddle stand... Last night my dogs were going crazy to get in there and when I opened the door, there was no one out there... They looked all around and could not find the reason they were barking...
Although my healer was growling at the tack door all night, it must be subliminal and my dogs can hear it, I am using ear plugs.... LOLOLO

Mine spends its time talking to {{{the laundry that has yet to be folded}}}. I know if I reduce that mountain even a fraction it will start stalking me so -NO FOLDING LAUNDRY TIL NEW YEAR'S (sorry, too loud)

My Laundry room is on the other side of my tack room, they share a hall way... HUMMMM maybe if I move it out of my tack room and bury it under my piles of Laundry that somehow did not get folded when I did it this weekend, I wont have to wear earplugs and the dogs will quit growling.... HUMMMM note to self when I get home tonight, check it out.
