Multiflora's in bloom.

Holy Cow! That is a great multiflora, Kathy. I have managed to keep mine alive, but after two years, it's still only about a foot tall. Go figure!
All I have blooming is H. nummularoides, carnosa rubra and pubicalyx PS. They're all pouting about being moved inside. :(

Kabob, the australis flowers are so pretty! Sunshine, the dischidia looks like blueberry flowers and nice red leaves on your australis!

Finally had some time to upload photos from my camera... Here's densifolia with "hairy" buds about a week ago.

And here are the same buds today.

And how about a photo of sigillatis... the flowers are so discrete among the leaves!

And last the former odetteae, now known as tsangii...

Wonderful! I especially love the sigillatis with its "peachy" leaf!

Boojum, how long did you have your multiflora? it's a beautiful plant. I have 1 stem but I can't cut the stem to start a new plant because she is flowering all the time. : )

Myhoyas, gorgeous buds/flowers! my sigilattis was just sitting there, I repotted and she is going worse. I've started new cutting & put in the baggy. I hope she recovers.

My multiflora seems to be doing what everyone else has mentioned. Blooms a lot but is just one short stem.

It was a good sized EA at Home Home Depot 2 years ago. I had it hanging from an apple branch all summer. I shower it when it looks dusty in the shower.

Eveyone's blooms are just beautiful. I have obscura blooming again on the one little peduncle. The flowers last about a week, and before you know it, there she goes, sending off new flowers.
My multiflora started to send off a side branch but is losing quite a few leaves on the bottom of the plant. It just stopped blooming, one or two peduncles at a time. It started to bloom in July. I haven't taken pictures of it since March when it was in bloom. I guess it's time for new pictures. Right now there are no flowers but the peduncles are starting again. I still can't figure out how to water this plant. I think I'm going to re-pot it in a heavier mix and cut it back some. It seem to dry out too fast. I think it could be the air-conditioning. We have it running most of the year.
I'll post pictures of before and after, as soon as I get the nerve to do it. ^_^

My heat dries multiflora out so I water it a lot more than the other hoyas each week.

Eileen, I got a multiflora in trade a year ago and I thought I was going to lose it. It was not a happy hoya until someone on here told me the multiflora is one that loves water, and suggested using a self watering African Violet pot. I immediately potted it in one of my two part AV pots (the outer pot is the reservoir that holds the water, the inner pot has an unglazed bottom that soaks up the water to the plant roots). That hoya has been happy and doing well ever since.

Oh, I love your obscura! I recently got one and can't wait for those blooms! I just love the foliage on it too!

Is the reason for the two pot method of an AV pot to keep the plant continually moistorso theplantcan pul wateras it requires?? I've always wondered.

Yes, Sheri ... that is the exact purpose to keep the moisture consistent.

After wating for at least a month for this hoya to bloom, it's finally here! Hoya Imperialis. There is another bud below it, that will be blooming soon!

Oh, that is so nice, Awanda! What a huge flower! Love it. I have an imperialis but it hasn't bloomed for me yet! Maybe next year I will get to see those great flowers!

Those densifolia buds finally opened up...

And fully opened today...

The densiflora are very pretty. Awanda love that huge bloom. I had no idea that they could be so large.

I'm confused. Christina's H densifolia's flowers are identical to H cummingiana's. I have both, but neither have bloomed for me, and the leaves are completely different from each other. I got my H densifolia from Anne Wayman and my H cummingiana's leaves are identical to the pictures of every one I've seen. I have a picture of my H densifolia at home and will post it later. What does everyone else think?

I found it in an old email. Here's the H densifolia that I got from Ann Wayman.

Okay, I feel better now, here's a quote from Ted Green's catalogue:

"densifolia, Turcz. C- Flowers and general growth as cumingiana but with larger, pointed leaves and not as thick as H. cumingiana, on a bush. Add limestone to mix. Philippines and Indonesia"

H. citrina just opened yesterday...all but one bud. I love the clean fresh scent of this one.

I photograph my hoyas by the pool...gives a nice contrasting background since I don't know of any hoyas that are blue?

I have buds on H siariae for the first time and I'm wondering if its normal for its peduncle to be 6-1/4" long. The vine looked like it was throwing another shoot off near the end (because I didn't look closely) and when these little buds grew I was flabbergasted.
