Its so beautiful, reminds me of a poincetta.

Craryville, NY

Nice shot, Vic! Really beautiful. All of our leaves, except for the most stubborn oaks, are gone gone gone. We had snow the other day!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thank you both. Ours will be going soon too.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

It does look like a pointysetta! It was reminding me of something and that was it! Thanks.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Our leaves are still on but we are being invaded by the tiny biting J beetles and lady bugs are flying with them. They are thick in the air. BEV

Funny how the time of day and the sun can make this look so differant.

Many leaves have fallen; but many still on the trees. I am surprised by how many are still to fall, but then we have lots of trees.

Very nice, Bev.

I just had to share this. A family friend asked me if I would take care of her 2 dogs and a cat this week, which I have done before, and I said sure. Things have always been par for the course before. You can imagine my surprise when I get there and see this.

I found a note inside that did say that she was taking care of this goat for a couple of months. This thing is not friendly and tries to charge me if I get too close, but it's hard to stay away since it wants to be with the dogs and I need to feed and give the dogs some attention. It'll be interesting. lol

OMG, ROTFL!!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Maybe it's the dogs Halloween costume?

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

lol, I think it could be Debilu. But, I think this dog already wears a costume.

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

What does he look like without the mask?

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

lol. well.... remove a lot of excess skin and he might look like a stout lab. He's a complete sweetheart too. Name's Mugsy. It fits him well.

I'm not sure what this thing is. It definitely looks to be an annual though.

Thanks! I'm with you Dahlia, I'd really like to know what it is as well. It's at the house where I'm taking care of the pets (see above). It won't be long before the goat eats it I'm sure.

Too funny redchic. I thought the chicken folks (some of who are also goat folks) might have popped in to advise on goat care. I must admit I'd be a little intimidated. Do you just scatter goat food and put out water and hope for the best?

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Ohhh.... this is the note that i read after I finally made it past the goat and into the house. The note said "oh and by the way, there's a goat around here that I'm taking care of for a few months for someone. It's pretty self sufficient."

I don't know a thing about them, other than they'll eat almost anything. Judging by the trees and shrubs (two of which I helped plant last year) she been letting it eat whatever it wants to as well as mow the grass. I assume it gets water out of the dogs water.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

I'm catching on though, I only had to be head butted once to realize the terms that the goat and I were on. lol

RC your annual looks like Linaria 'Toad Flax, Baby Snapdragon'

Nice backlit shot of the petunia too!

RC Is that the cat with horns for Holloween?
lol

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Goat!! OMG!! I am laughing, too.
And, I agree with pixie ... my first thought was a snapdragon as well for that gorgeous flower. If you are lucky, it may come back next year. Some of our snaps surprised us by returning for a second season of blooms.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Mugsy is adorable! Head-butting goat!! LOL

I love the note - BTW we are goat-sitting. Too bad it is eating good stuff.

Lovely maple grove.

Love those maples, Shelly. Here is my pond from above. (That's my neighbor's shed in the background.)
