First..to all..thanks for the prayers and good wishes for me and the family.. it was so appreciated.. Velma is resting in finally great Peace.. I was pleased to see her go..as she was quite racked by pain when I saw her this spring... and planted her Brug garden for her.. Velma as very special to me.. aside from being an identicle twin to mother.. she also got me growing more tropicals..Bananas..and her night blooming cereus.. and I was always happy to plant a brug garden for her..in her last years... they grew so well.. and their flowers.. and the interest and conversations of passers by was a great joy to her.. in her last years..
I'm back here in AL with mother.. cutting the brugs back and mulching for the winter.. working on a pile of projects for her.. in the next few days..
again... thanks... for all the support..and help..I hope to keep current in my replies now. 1 to 1 ..now....that I'm settled in here.. but it sounds fine for ya'll... cuttings seem to have weathered their trips to you.. and great luck in their rooting and growing them out.. till they can go out in the spring.. ... Sincerely...Gordon
I can't believe anyone still has room for more...

Gordon,
I sent you several reg. emails. You have my heart fely sympathy for your families loss. How wonderful of you to plant and tend to her brugs. I know she was so thankful for you and them.
I had told you in the email each day and now again today my cuttings did not arrive. I am deeply disappointed and can not imagine what city they were lost on the way here.
If you could tell me the amount for postage I would love to send it to you as you did your part and not your fault they did not arrive. LMKP
To everyone else. Congrats on your arrival of new Babies. I will just look forward to next year. I can not lie and say I am not disappointed but I hope maybe someone is enjoying them and they are not dying somewhere. :O( Thank you so much Gordon and I will get your postage out as soon as I hear from you.
Have a Great time with your mom.

Sandy
Sandy, how have the cuttings you have fared so far? I may have some rooted duplicates of some of my Brugs in springs. If you are interested in receiving them for postage, D-mail me.
Veronica
Gordon,
Thank you so much for the wonderful cuttings. The fat one amazed me! I guess I did not realize brugs could get such a thick trunk!
My sincere condolences on the loss of your Velma. I can relate to your being glad that her pain is now gone, but I'm sure there remains a hole in your heart. I wish your visit to Mississippi had been on a happier note.
Blessings to you and your family.

Hi Gordon....Ihope I thanked you for all the cuttings you sent me...in a note I sent with the postage....If I didn't..thanks bunches...you and your crew are the greatest!
Now...I am totally overwhelmed...these are the first cuttings for me ....I have some in a tank with a pump that makes bubbles...I have a couple in cups with orchid moss and h/ peroxide
Painted Lady X DayDreams is in a cup with water and hydron peroxide and has has oodles of white nubs
2 in up its stem and then has leaves all the way up her stem......Do I wait for roots to form before I pot it? Do I let all the leaves stay on the stem or do I remove some? sorry I have to bother you...but I don;t know what to do.
Advice would be sincerely appreciated.
Mon Amore du Merural X Susanne is so beautiful!
My sympathies for your loss...I know you gave your aunt much joy having the knowledge that you love plants so.
My 5 yr old grandson loves helping plant things and watching them grow....that is a great joy to me.
Pic..this evening in OH
Well...#3..
It doesnt look like time to plant out just yet... it's very pretty though..from inside...
I heard we has flurries today..as I was flying back..and stilll dozens outside.. awaiting the buds.. but theystill lookOK...I'll move them in when I get back from some work. and the rest.. tomorrowmorning...
If you have substantial nubbins ... you can surely plant,,into a small pot...so they dry out fast..and you can water them again... I like the 1 liter b ottles ...they are tall...and tiny at the same time..be sure to cut lots of drainage holes in each little tip on the bottom..
the leaves all along the stem are fine to leave on...if youre planting up..or awaiting more roots... they willl get it going..making food for the roots give it some sun.. and they will spur the roots to develop.. big top leaves are more difficult for the plant to support and should be removed..
yes... there's death in all gods gardens .. you notice it more ...the older one becomes
all the best with them there...not a bother at all in any way to ask or sending photos of your success with them ...
Mine were developing the white nubbins so I potted them up because I know that with other plants the "water roots" are not that strong. I have never had these so that may not be the case with brugs. They are under flourescent lights and being watched over like a mother with her chicks. :^)
Gordon, you said to remove big top leaves. I have cuttings that are about 8-9 in tall and have nice big leaves sprouting out the side near the top. Are these the ones I should take off? They don't have them anywhere else. sup, sup, whimper, it would be hard to do.
I always lleave most of the leaves... if it's too hard for them they will drop them anyway.. but in a new cutting I'll leave the smaller leaves..and remove all the real big ones....just watch them for signs of stress..
yes.. the roots are a bit tender..but mostly they are used to being in water ..I plant on having big nubbins... and contrary to the pure water they have been in..I'll let them get dry.. before watering..
they look real good... sure .. don't you dare cut them... they look like they are all new leaves... you're a brug collector now...
Yea me! I'm glad I asked. That's why I come here. To seek the wisdom of the brug mavens.
Well.. I'd like to thank everyone who has returned the postage...most all are in now.. Paypal..cash and checks... I appreciate compliance... the extra sent is nice .. helping defray the costs here... of materials and paid labor.. the gifts of seeds and plants...personal art/crafts.. were so sweet.. Lovely angels...were much appreciated.. heart warming all..
I hope they all bring with them great success in your growing.. and pleasure in their flowering
All my best to ya'll.... Gordon
