Caboose Camping

I really enjoyed this thread. I live in eastern Ky in the mountains and WV would be a short trip for us. I do have a question. I know the caboose has a restroom and shower. Is the water in a tank on the caboose or did they have water at the site?

Glad you enjoyed it. The water is from a tank on the caboose. We had plenty for 2 nights. Not sure how long it would last.

My wife and I are doing these trains this summer. We are all signed up. We saw them first right here. Doing the caboose the first night, the dinner train the second evening in Elkins and the nine hour train the third day. There is a country theater in Elkins for the third evening. Makes us a neat five day trip within six or seven hours from where we live. I can arrange to have my oxygen schedules worked out for the trip.

Really? Were there many families there? I'll have to consider that.

It was just DH and I at one site and a family of four at the site about a half mile up. There are just the 2 sites. I think the caboose will sleep 6.

We went on this caboose camping trip again for my 50th birthday. I just posted the photo at the top of this thread in a photo contest. There are already photos with many votes, not sure when it started. But it you like mine, please vote! It is titled Coming in to Durbin station.
