CLOSED: Official Tomato and Pepper Seed Swap - It's a go!

I have been told that priority mail is no good if it goes out of the country. Post office lady said'' don't waist your money ''.

So, here's the latest scoop. I'm still waiting on several seed packages to arrive, but was able to fill a few surprise packages today. I mailed seeds back to the following Daves garden members today:

Twiggybuds - your package is ready to go and will be mailed tomorrow.

Where I am able to fulfill individual wish lists (primarily smaller packages) with the seeds that have arrived so far, I will continue to package and send to speed things up. For those that sent in larger seed lots or have several "wish items" listed, I will wait for more seeds to arrive before sending yours back, to see if luck will allow for more items on your wish list to appear. I have been setting aside seeds from your "wish lists" as they come in, so no one will be disadvantaged by waiting for the rest of the seed packs.

I didn't receive any new seed packages today.

One last tidbit.....if you mailed your seeds but forgot to enclose a wish list, it's not too late. If there are specific items you're hoping for, please send me a private d-mail as quickly as possible. I'll do my best, but of course there are no guarantees.

I will continue to post updates here as I mail packages, so as long as you don't see your name in lights here, there's still time :)

I'm hoping my seeds arrive soon--DH mailed them 6 days ago (so can I blame him that they're taking a long time? No; maybe not.)

A quick update for everyone.

There are still 11 confirmed packages on their way, so I will be waiting for those arrive before sending more seeds out. I'm sure they won't be long.

We started with 70 registered participants, and after follow up attempts with people I have not heard from since they signed up, we're down to 60. There are still a few people that have not responded to any of my follow up attempts. Only one person from this forum.
I'm not going to wait on those individals obviously, but it is a shame that people can't take a second to send a quick note to say "I changed my mind". It sure would save a lot of time.

There's no more mail delivery until next week and I will continue to post here as packages arrive.

Wondering how long it takes a package to get to Canada from Cleveland?

well, I can tell you I sent one on Nov 14th by priority mail from Ft Wayne, IN and it still isn't there... :(

oh man...

I know it's frustrating everyone, but sending seeds to another country normally takes a couple of weeks. It will always slow things down having an item pass through customs.

I'm sure the seeds will get here. Not to worry.

Please don't hold up sending out to anyone waiting on mine, seriously.

Antoinine, that's a very kind offer. Since we have 11 packages
en route, I think it's worth waiting for all of them to arrive. That will ensure the best variety of seeds to distribute.

They'll probably all arrive the same day .....lol.

I'm salivating over my trade envelope that came in today's mail. I still have to look up half of my receipts that I don't recognize but I'm just tickled to death. Besides the research, I've got to plan new spaces for this goldmine of new varieties. Thank you all for such great contributions and thanks to Heather most of all for a perfectly executed trade. This is a lot of work for her and she's done a remarkable job.

I had a few other packages arrive as well as a couple of commerical orders I placed, so I was able to fill a few more packages with good variety (and hopefully have filled your wish lists at least a little bit).

I'm sure glad we're swapping tomatoes and peppers this time of year. It has a way of warming you up on a cold winters day.

I just got back from walking my mom's little pooch in the middle of a snowstorm and all I could think about while walking him, is wouldn't it be nice to have some nice spicy peppers at dinner tonight :)

Of course it doesn't help that the little pooch was dressed in a bright red sweater, matching boots and sort of looked like a little chilli pepper. And to make it worse, his name is Pepper. So I figure it's not my fault, that I have a pepper growing addiction, I'm surrounded by it everywhere I go:)

I hope everyone is toasty and warm on this winter evening. I'm off to shovel the walk again for the 5th time to day :) Somebody promise me summer is coming :)

My peppers are opening their first flowers at the moment. Zuchinis and cucumbers both opened their first female flowers today too. I have waited a long time for this. Its finally SUMMER!
