Hi folks,

As a gentle reminder, please do not send unnamed seeds in this swap. I have received a couple of seeds packs of mixed/unknown varieties and in fairness to the other participants, I cannot send these to people that followed the guidelines and sent in "named varieties" of tomato or pepper seed.

It's fine to send them in if your sending them as extras for me to distribute as bonuses, but please do not make them part of your "swap" submission.

Thanks for your understanding.

.....Heather

Cindy (MamawK) - I haven't received your seeds yet. It can take up to two weeks for seeds to arrive from the US. I will post a note here when the seeds arrive. Thanks....Heather

Cindy (MamawK) - your seeds arrived today :)

Flora, IN(Zone 5a)

Mine are in the mail.

Willamette Valley-OS, OR(Zone 8a)

Mine Should Have Arrived Also.
Postal Clerk Said...Approx...2 Weeks.
Hopefully the Package Arrives in the Next Couple Days.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

It hasn't arrived yet ZZTOPSOIL. Will post here when it does. It can take about two weeks. Sometimes more, sometimes a lot less. Just depends on customs. I haven't had one go astray yet, so I'm sure it will get here shortly.

Can't remember when you said you mailed the parcel, but with Nov 11th being a stat holiday, I think things may be delayed a couple of days.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Hi everyone,

Just a friendly reminder....if you haven't already mailed your seeds, you should be doing so right away. As you can see from some of the posts, it can take a couple of weeks for international mail (even from the US). I am expecting to receive all seed packets by the end of November.

Thanks again.....Heather

Brisbane, Australia(Zone 10b)

Mine should be there soon, I posted over a week ago.

Hi Heather--

Mailed mine today...sorry but I ran out of stamps and Mother Nature did the Lake Effect Snow dance on my front yard.

Willamette Valley-OS, OR(Zone 8a)

Just to Let You Know Mine were Mailed 11/13 @ 4:32pm.
They Will be there Soon I'm Sure.
It was the First Time I Had Used a Customs Slip on the Outside of the Envelope so...
Maybe that is a Clear Red Flag to Have their Dog Sniff Out My Package.
I am Not Worried...In 9 Years Trading Seeds and Especially to Canada I Have Never (Knock on Wood) Had a Mailed Package go AWOL.

"Thanks" for the Update.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

zztopsoil...thanks for letting me know when the package was mailed. I'm not worried either. Like you, I've never had a trade between Canada and the US go astray. I'm sure every once in a while, those customs folks have to do their routine sniff, just to stay fresh :)

We'll wait for your package to arrive before "swapping" and sending back the seeds.

Thanks again.....Heather

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Forgot to update everyone on the final head count for participation....we have grand total of 70 participating. Thanks everyone for your great communication. It sure helps me stay organized.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Hi everyone,

I hope it's ok, but when I return your seeds to you, I may need to swap your bubble envelope for a different bubble envelope. When I started this swap, I didn't anticipate really large bubble envelopes or non-bubble fibre envelopes being sent in. I should have I suppose and it would have been better had I put dimension specifications for the bubble envelopes that you send in.

In any event, if you sent in a bubble envelope with your seeds, your replacement seeds will still be mailed back with a bubble envelope. It just may end up being a smaller and lighter version to keep within Canada Post guidelines for the postage rates we're trying to use. Some of the envelopes I've received are fibre filled and heavy and would cost $5.00 to $6.00 to send back if I used the same envelope. Just changing the type of envelope, is the simple solution and I'm hoping everyone is ok with that.

Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks for your understanding. I'll know better next time and will be more specific with envelope instructions.

Thanks.....Heather

Belleville, IL(Zone 6a)

Is changing the envelopes going to increase your cost? Do I need to send more money for postage?
dhemmer

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

There won't be an increased cost...not to worry. I have a good stash of bubble envelopes here (comes with the seed trading addiction :). I can reuse any larger envelopes that were sent in down the road for seed trades within Canada. The post office is just a little tighter on weight and dimensions for envelopes being mailed outside of Canada.

Thanks for the offer though and I appreciate your understanding.

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6b)

No problem here. Thanks for all your hard work and kindness in doing this. If I need to send more postage just write on back of envy or dmail me.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well MamawK! and of course to everyone else in the U.S. In Canada, we have our Thanksgiving in October, so it's kind of fun to get a second chance to celebrate again...there's no rule saying we can't celebrate American Thanksgiving as well! Right??

Churubusco, IN(Zone 5b)

hmaconda, my seeds were sent priority mail on the 14th. I just tracked them and they don't show anything except the pickup. If you don't receive them by Wed. I'm going to contact the post office.

I too and very appreciative for your efforts. I know it takes a lot of work and organization to do a large swap. Hope you are staying warm and dreaming of the bountiful, weed free gardens of next year.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Hi Shelley,

Thanks for the update. Prioity mail is a funny thing I find. I've in the past, paid for priority mail on purchases made in the US and found he mail wasn't delivered any quicker than regular usps letter mail.

I'm sure your envelope will arrive. We will wait for it before swapping seeds and resending them.

Thanks again.....Heather

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Hi folks,

I just sent follow up d-mails, emails etc to all of the participants that I either haven't received seed packets from or haven't seen a note indicating that the seeds were sent.

If you could please take a moment to respond back to me to confirm that your seeds have been mailed.

If you've changed your mind and are no longer participating, that's ok too, but I need you to let me know so we don't hold up the swap needlessly waiting for seeds that are not coming (I've received a couple of responses to my follow up emails on other boards, saying they changed their minds - they wouldn't have told me if I had not followed up).

I appreciate your help with this.

Thanks....Heather

Mid-Cape, MA(Zone 7a)

Heather, your taking the time to follow up with d-mails is so great, because it will shorten the time needed to get the seeds off when you know exactly who is participating.
Thank you!
