Good thread ...........and today, I will make sure that I smile at a lot of folks who won't expect it! That IS fun - and as long as I remember that there will be those who won't return it, it works well. Smiling comes naturally to me ......... I wish I could say the same for even some of my dear friends.

About sign holders and construction workers - I do give them a BRAKE - as the signs plead - and I also give them a smile and wave ......... I have done some "roadside work" and it is nice to be noticed and appreciated. In my case, I was doing volunteer work w/ the police department - using the radar gun to check and inform drivers of their speed - via the lighted board. Oh my! Not everyone appreciates folks who represent "the law". I could write a book about the reactions!

Oh thanks for offering to smile at a lot of folks! Its so seldom done in our culture and makes a world of difference. :)

Since posting on this thread I have made an effort to wave at all the vehicles that I meet on the dirt road that I live on. My DH made the comment the other day that not all our neighbors are friendly when we pass on the road. I live in the country and the dirt road is probably 5 or 6 miles long plus the off roads. I can't see any of my neighbors houses from where I live but I do recognize vehicles that I pass everyday. Some people waved before but now everybody that I wave at has waved back at me with some now waving before me. I hope we all can keep this up as it is a nice thing.

AWESOME!

Ever notice once you start being nice it SEEMS that you find more people who are also nice? :)

Ever notice around Christmastime that others seem nicer?
