Okay since I did get pictures taken and instead of filling up Dave's garden wtih them I made up a web page well actually there are 2 pages but anyway here is the link to them they are in thumbnails but if you click on the first one it will do a slide show (or should) of all the pictures I took today.
I tried to put names on most of them and a number of us went to Magi & Ken's afterwards for plants.

and I think I was saying something to you about taking my picture LOL
Don't know if this is the right place, but here goes. I got a nice little plant in a big vanilla yogurt cup. It had my name on it, so it must have been something I ask for. I want to do what makes it happy, so, a name please.
And to everyone whoIgot plants from, a big 'THANK YOU'. I have the day off today so have been out getting my cutting settled and potting up those things that needed it. What a fun day for me.
someone else posted the same question on the trade thread. it was from Mibus2 and is a mexican hydranea (sp?).
tracie
it is the Mexican hydrangea from me LOL sorry got the names of who they went to on them but forgot the plant name
Phyllis, that is so beautiful, but you need to tell them how big it really is. That leaf is huge!
What are you going to use for the base?
lk
am thinkin of using one of the logs from the huge pine tree DH cut down that was dead in the back.
That would be very pretty. Maybe a couple of coats of laquer or something to help preserve it? But they will last a long time going all natural!!!
keep us posted.
Linda Kay
oh yeah thought of that already too and even sealing the cement too if need be ...dang thing too a whole bag of cement mix LOL
WOW.. girl.. you didn't waste anytime!! That is going to be gorgeous...
yeah linda Kay.. what maybe 4' long?? the leaf??
well I needed something to do when they watched the game an didn't' want to wait too long and lose the leaves
Hope I'm not too late to say what great fun the RU was! So many plants....I'm still trying to figure out where to put them. Sun or shade? How big are they going to get? Cold-hardy or tender? etc. Thanks to everyone who gave me plants. Also thanks to all who put the RU together. When did you say the Spring RU was? LOL
Darlene
Hi everyone,
I'm a little late in posting but wanted to say what a great time I had and how much I enjoyed the whole day. I want to do that again!!! THANK YOU to everyone who gave me plants, too.
Now, I have to tell y'all the reason I haven't been on here sooner and it's quite a story! During Ike we had several trees that fell or cracked so we took 5 more pine trees down at the same time. They were ALL laying in my yard the week before the round up. The yard was literally covered well over head high with limbs, trunks and branches and while Patrick and I were at the RU we paid a guy to haul off the large tree trunks (we wanted to mulch the small stuff) with very specific instructions not to drive his tractor into my back yard. Well, guess what???? When I work up Sunday morning and went to check out the progress I saw a 2 feet size hole all the way into the septic tank. The septic tank lid was cracked and everything was caving in. As the day went on the entire lid caved in along with the 3 feet of dirt on top, some of the flower bed and the stone work around it was all in the sewage. But wait... it gets worse... the electical box which powered the pump to pump my sewage out to the street was floating in the sewage, and the pump was broken and laying in pieces at the bottom once the 'stuff' was pumped out. In the end the entire tank was cracked all the way around, and everything had to be replaced. We lived without sewage for 10 days and it was a night mare. We had it pumped out every few days but no washign clothes or dishes nor long showers. Now my backyard looks like a war zone because of the clay which was drug everywhere. A lot of my back yard grass is dead from the trees which laid on it and the back hoe which brought me my new tank and the tractor ruts caused when the guy DIDN'T listen to my insturctions. When he drove the tractor back there he tore HUGE ruts all over my yard. I cried for days. I'd sit on my back porch and cry like a baby. It was my haven and my sanctuary. The yard and beds weren't finished but it was my special place and it hit me HARD! The next week my daugter was bucked off her horse and kicked her and she ended up in the ER and hospital for a day THEN last week my hubbie tore a ligament in his foot and is on crutches... so all in all it's been a tough few weeks. I'm STILL SMLING tho!
So... I'm working on my yard and am feeling better now that we can take LONG showers again and wash clothes.
Anyway, I had a wonderful time at the RU and can't wait till spring.
Aggie girl - you asked about the day lilly in the plastic bag with damp paper and that might be from ME. I have no clue what it was!!! LOL
Probably the unnamed but lovely daylilly I bought about 15 years ago from the day lilly lady in Alto.
I hope everyone enjoys this glorious weekend weather.
