That very interesting note Leftwood. Picking season is over here, but I will keep that thought in mind for next year.
A friend gathered some up and has dried some of his persommons and made some persimmon jam out of the rest. He bringing me some to try next week. Can't wait . the jam sounds yummy to go on mornign toast.
Wild Persimmon ?
About a third of my persimmon fruits have naturally fallen so far. In the earlier years of my tree, when they didn't seem to ripen enough for fruit to fall, I have left some on right on the tree into Christmas time. The fruit dried on the tree, and the sugars so concentrated that they were literally candy all by themselves.
