Great pics everyone!
Love the Swans,Osprey and nanny that's a great shot of the Flicker!
Nice Thrush Elphaba. Sure wish I would see them here.
Daily pic vol 141
Linth what a gorgeous picture of the Kestel. Great to be able to see them close up. They are beautiful!!! Lovely shot of the Egrets also.
Gary I wanted to comment on those wonderful shots of the Swan, on the other thread and these ones, Lovely birds.
Everyone have put in quite an assortment of birds, very nice.
Pelle have to comment on your groundhog, cute
Adel, maybe a Black-chinned
not sure what species of Hummer
Anna's Hummer, male - note the pale line going down from the white spot behind the eye, and the green feathers on the undertail coverts (Black-chinned is white or greyish there).

AAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went to the top of the thread and commented on each and every one who's posted, then when I went to send it I'd obviously spent so much time composing my comments, the page had expired and so all I can say is fantastic shots everyone. I really have enjoyed them all.
This is a Twenty Eight. S/he and two others were having a snack on the dandelions on the verge as I was coming home from the swamp yesterday.
Margaret, nice photo .....
Just a thought. I have lost so much work after I have put some time into it that I finally wised up. I leave a blank Word document open so if I have a lot to type, I either type it in Word and do a copy and paste or if I'm afraid I might lose it on a site like Dave's Garden, I might type it but copy it back into Word before sending. I've sent a lot of e-mails that hung up while sending and eventually lost them. I know how you feel but this is the only answer to doing it over.
Thanks linthicum. I just thought it'd teach me a lesson for being so verbose.
Thanks Gary. Don't worry about not having the variety. I would never get tired of looking at the Steller's Jays. The colour of the belly and wing feathers look like the colours of a coral atoll. Beautiful shots. Part of the message I lost was asking if your Trumpeter and Tundra Swans have the occasional spat. What gorgeous birds.
Just beautiful pictures everyone. I love those Stellers Jay shots, and I'm so envious of the swans!
This is the only shot I got of this visitor. He and his mate would call to each other every once in a while with a single chirp like a male Cardinal. They were tiny and fast, so again I only go the one shot that I have cropped to varying degrees of blurriness before settling on this one. I think it's a Nashville Warbler which will be a first for me! Correct me if I'm wrong though!
I think it's a Nashville Warbler
Yep!

Congrats Elphaba!!!
I'm going to buy one this weekend because of you!! It's a good time of year in Houston (for bird, not weather). I've had 5 newbies the last 2 weeks. Sorry to all the Northerners who are losing their beauties!!
Too funny! I'm wandering around the yard wondering where I can plant some more! I saw them at the Houston Arboretum and they were full of birds, so I knew I had to have one. My neighbor just gave me a bunch of plumerias and three sunshine trees (that's my name for them b/c I can't remember the real name). My yard will soon be a jungle. There's never enough space!
Shush!!!!!!!!
