DG Calendar of events

Hi dave: I would like to suggest deleting DG Calendar of events. No one is posting to it. I posted a few times with events listed in Southern Living or at the NC Arboretum, but even though darius got some others to agree to post for their area, it hasn't happened. So it's a lost cause, I think. Maybe we are all too busy. I am a volunteer Museum Exhibits manager now which takes enough time so that some weeks it is like working full-time again (along with my 2 part-time days working at the library).
It seemed like a good idea, but it's a no-go.

Sorry, but... there's a DG Calendar of Events? I guess I need to be better informed! :-)

OK, I went looking under the various tabs and on the options for my homepage, and I can't find it... where is it?

Maybe if it were listed as an item under the "Communities" tab?

Several times we've considered launching a full-fledged calendar, but the idea tends to get pushed to the back burner. I figured I'd wait for Dave to see this and decide which way to go with the events.

that might work if we include all the round-ups and other get-togethers the DGers have as well as flower shows and arboretum and university activities. You might have to let DGers agree to different areas they will take care of. I was assigned the south except for Florida and Virginia. But I think one state and round-ups are enough.

I agree that the system we have now is extremely limited and unused, and should be removed and replaced.

Getting a full scale DG Calendar of Events application would be the ultimate feature, it's just a matter of making it a priority to get it created. I'm still excited about it, but I won't even consider working on it until I finish my other high priority items that I currently have.
