Eggsplorer II: Mission ROMES Journey Log Continues...

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Commander Moxon providing afternoon report.

Pleased to report hatched silkie life form. Furry feet noted. Will post picture shortly.

Three EE eggs pipped and active.

One OEG egg pipped and active.

One EE egg inactive.

Brinsea 40 arrived and about to be assembled for Delaware Blue and Buttercup Bantam Life Form Incubating Modules (i.e. eggs).

Photos to follow - for now repeating Nilla photo to start thread, since she was #1.
Over.

Co-Commander of this mission has just called home to say he picked up 2 chicks at a feed store in the location of his employment today. He's bringing home an Ameraucana and an RIR chick. They were apparently irresistible.

Oooooo/awwwww!

Suggest vaccinating Co-Commander against irrational chick attraction. The vaccines are, I hear, both safe and effective.

NPGC heading to feed store....unvaccinated.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Careful NPGC....

But we do wanna hear all about any new arrivals on your return!

(Zone 7b)

LT. Harmony SPGC Checking in to new site MA'AM Yes MA'AM Delighted to hear of good news will be waiting to hear of other little fuzzy life forms and waiting for pics.
Reporting here at SRGC headquaters all flock is fine and have 8 new baby Doves and 4 pigeons on eggs. Quaritined newcomers White face black spanish doing fine Baby blue chicks growing and cute as a button. Candled eggs under lemon blue hen found all infertile but CF must have been aware of this as found 3 eggs in self blue nest will collect eggs daily and reset hen when apropriate amount gathered.
I have not recieved CF report from PRT.Grow and Can Not provide a report on CF Detection Will Check Radar. LT. Harmony SPGC "SALUTE"

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Lt. Harmony - excellent news indeed. Flight crew is excited to hear about your new baby doves and baby pigeons "in shellero." Unfortunate about lemon blue hen (maybe eggs too sour due to lemon?) but self blue nest sounds positive.

CF Report still lacking....hmmm...have to consider repercussions for Private Grownut.

New "dry" picture of Nilla for ground crew viewing provided herewith.

Another pic of silkie life form back coloration. Any guesses on his/her final color?

Commander Moxon identifies a visual of a sort of swirly brownish reddish color.

ZZ reporting... NPGC missing in action at the present time. No radio contact. Expecting contact directly, will hold this frequency open.

Job well done Commander, fuzzy life forms creating intense warm fuzzy feelings across the nation.
Possible identification be Pralines on unidentified fuzzy?
Congrats on the dove life forms LT Harmony.

Over

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Private ZZ - is there such a color as a praline silkie? Or are you just pulling the Commander's leg?

Sergeant Williams. You are brilliant. Wafer it is. Too funny. Why didn't I think of that?
More jelly donuts!

Off to assemble Octagon 40, having fed and watered goats and chickens. 4 eggs today. yay. Time to make a custard. too many eggs.

Commander Moxon over.

ps. P. Grownut is clueless about report due to LT Harmony viz CF and will probably stay in dereliction of duty unless someone take pity on her....

Lodi, United States

I am broadcasting from self-imposed exile in remote cell of the brig. Co-Commander made childish fuss about less than ship-shape front annex. Hired 17 year old housekeeping technician who was AWOL for 2 weeks and is now performing front annex remediation duties. Stealth entry into rear hatch to avoid extremely peppy 17 year old communications expert.

Will report later.

Did I, NPGC operative Catscan, disclose furtive drop off by United States Postal Service of CF representative tf's hatching modules? Happy dance commencement scheduled for 21 days from Saturday.

Oh Joy! Oh Rapture!

Oh ver!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Commander Moxon reporting the evening report. Sorry to hear I was too late for Lt. Harmony - I was busy assembling new hatching unit from Brinsea Space Capsules, Inc. and observing a hatchee.

Lt. Harmony - Please re-explain to poor Private Grownut what is required. Apparently she needs extra help with her assignment.

Capt. Catscan - my sympathies. 17 year olds who think they are experts both annoy and scare the heck outta me! Good to hear that you will be Commander Catscan in 21 days. Very eggciting. BTW, Commander Moxon hates front annex remediation duties and generally assigns them to co-pilot because Commander Moxon needs to study for law school. Co-pilot also performs clothing sanitization, wrinkle elimination, and folding duties. He is quite handy.

On another note, co-pilot brought home 1 ameraucana and 1 RIR. Will post pictures. In the meantime, 1 EE egg has hatched, and Brinsea Octagon is heating.

New Ameraucana life form
(yes, Commander Moxon wears pink jammies with swirly flowers on them. What of it?)

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Newly hatched EE, very exhausted. Nameless at the moment. This is the second one of the chicks that had the weird pip location. The first one died but this one made it.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

And finally, a drier silkie. White or buff - what do you think?
The person I got it from says she only has white, black and splash.
I guess it's white, but it sure looks buff to me.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

oooh sooo cute! congrats!

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

me thinks she is splash.

for proper gender anaylsis of RIR and Ameracauna, please pull out wings and take photos. wing sexing required within 72 hours of hatch for 90 % success rate.

over.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

private jordan reporting to new thread.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Good morning all ground crews!

Commander Moxon reporting 2 hatches overnight. OEG silver fawn duckwing life form has hatched. Also another EE has hatched. Pictures to follow soon. One pipped EE egg to go. The remaining EE egg is exceedingly difficult to candle but has not pipped so I believe the life form may be extinguished.

Covert Agent TF - please note that the RIR and the Ameraucana came from the feed store that the co-pilot stopped into on his way home, and are not from my hatch. I can take wing photos but I assure you they are well over 72 hours old. Probably about 1 to 2 weeks old.

Mox over.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Commander Moxon has just had the very startling realization that her Appenzeller Spitzhaben "hen" is a roo. It's crowing. This is the first time. Who knew...?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

commander, how eggmazing!

Dry EE baby from last night - are there white EEs? Is it white or buff?

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

The dry trio - left to right are dry EE, silkie, and millie (nameless, Wafer, and Nilla).

Still confused on the silkie color - if the parents are any combination of white, black, and black/white splash, is it possible that it has buff in it? I need to study more of this genetics stuff we've been reviewing.

Mmmm. Shortbread, Oreo, and Nutter-Butter. And those yummy things you put on top of your coffee. And they get chewy.
