Hey, Don... Thanks for starting this thread! Nice to see you, too. DG has become so large that it's easy to lose track of folks.

I spoke to Barbara last night; Robert is doing well and they hope he will come home Tuesday.

Gilroy (Sunset Z14), CA(Zone 9a)

YEAH!! Thanks for the updates----glad to hear he's on the mend!

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Robert....so glad that you got this over and done with, out of the way, so that you can get back to life as usual. Sounds good that they had you up and walking so quickly and incredible that you can go home on Tuesday. We know that you'll continue to do well.

Hiya guys,

I got a call from Barb this morning to let all of us know that Robert is now walking around the hospital floors telling people they need more stained glass in their rooms....lol. He's up! and he's kicking butt......just like I knew he would.

Your wishes of healing and thoughts of wellness helped our friend immensely and now he's already out and about and giving nurses fits....I'd imagine. There is no better energy than this place, we have dave and Trish to thank for that, of course. I applaud all of you, and would appreciate it if the next time you see yourselves in some sort of reflective device (mirror), that you all give yourselve's a real pat on the back for your generosity of spirit.

I have always loved dave's (and dave himself) because of what he, Trish, and Terry have done to enrich our lives. I do think that at times like this the best of this site always comes out. Pam and I will never be able to thank the DG community enough for the great joy you guys have always brought with you to our home and our lives. I do believe that if, in fact, there is providence..........it's here.

I love you all,
don

Good to hear.

Phoenix, AZ

Great news he's up and about! You, Rock, Robert! Not on your "walker" (:-))) but as a Big Guy! A participant in this wonderful, unique experiment... Dave's Garden.

Do everything your docs and the nurses (oh those nurses) tell ya to do... REALLY!

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

It's true, DG has become a very large part of my life and it's entirely due to the generosity of spirit found here..exemplified by caring for fellow members and by the outpouring of support shown by all of the above who wish Robert well.

Is Robert actually home?

Temecula, CA(Zone 8b)

hiya guys,

I don't know if Robert is home yet as I haven't spoken to Barb since the weekend. But knowing him he's probably got them hailing limousines to take him home. He affects people that way and they want to be a part of the beauty he represents. I'm sure we'll hear something in the next day or so. He could be off taking skydiving lessons or booking a climbing expedition on Denali.

Hope all are well,
don

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Well, if they were expecting to send him home on Tuesday, I'm assuming he's soon to be there.

Havelock, Canada

Robert - If you are home - Whoopee!

You were so kind to me when I was just a newbie in DG. The outpouring of love that has been shown is a reflection of just what a wonderful soul you are. You take care and do as your told. Easier said then done, right?

May your recuperation be speedy and I truly hope and pray that each day you are feeling better than the day before.

God Bless

Hugs

Glad you made it through your procedure and are chasing the nurses down the hallways! You'll be back in your yard soon, making some new, wondrous project for us all to ohh and ahh over!! Take care my friend!

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Yayyyy, Robert!!! Hope you got to go home on Tuesday as planned, and are doing all the right things to continue your healing!! Keep up the good work, and you'll soon be back to your usual tricks!

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

This is absolutely astounding. I can't thank you all enough for your kind thoughts and prayers. The first four days were not good when the ventricular defibrillation set in, hardly had enough energy to do a 'caboose whistle'. Yesterday they did a shock with the paddles and kept me another 24 hours to make sure it was following the beat of the right drummer. So about noon today they kicked me out. Lots of accolades to the Nursing staff that put up with my constant calling for water ans ice chips. I think the first three words after surgery have to be "water, water water".

I think things started to turn around when Our Son Brian came up with the messages from DG. Your encouragement meant so very much, and I want again to thank you, and especially on & Pam, for all your friendship and thoughtfulness. DW has fixed me a nice lunch so I'd best join her.

Thank you,
robert
PS, here's himself out for a walk with one of the young ladies.

What a relief to know the surgery had no impact on your eloquence, Robert. Keep it up!

It's great to see ya doing so good. :) Take care!

Yay Robert!
You look wonderful. Take care of yourself and don't be chasing that DW of yours around the house! Glad you're home and back on Dave's!

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

So happy that you're home and doing well now. Okay, my words for the day are "ventricular defibrillation"....lol...I need to look that up to know what exactly that means when it "sets in" and were you aware of it when they hit you with the paddles? I think I'd be jumping up saying, "No, no, no,let's not do that!". Coming home is always good..........

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Good to see you looking good and are finally home.

Robert:

What a treat to see you back online and a PHOTO, too! I wonder if the young lady is smiling for the camera, or because of the view she has of her (undoubtedly favorite) patient in one of those oh-so-chic hospital gowns?....LOL!!

Rest and recuperate---we're all anxious to have you back at full strength as soon as possible!
