Here we go! Thanks to everyone for the great last thread.
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds Vol. 11
Nice portrait shot pelle.....
nanny,, it looks like your little guy is molting..... Nice shootin!!!... Whats the name of that blue flower he's on?
...Dave
Pelle, I love those ones at the end of the previous thread. Especially #2 with the beak so far into the flower. Great shots.
Nanny, That 2nd one with the black and blue salvia is so neat. I haven't seen them at my salvia. Guess I'd better hide around there for awhile and see what happens.
Becky
There ya go Dave...It is Black & Blue Salvia an annual here. It is beautiful and the hummers like it.
I bought some type a little red salvia that has been ignored.
Thanks nanny and Becky;,,
So it is a salvia.... Wasn't sure... I do have a few salvia out in the perennial garden but not one like that...... I'll have to try and find one or two at one of the local garden centers.... If it's an annual I guess I could try and over winter those in the greenhouse..... Another annual they seem to like are the calibrachoa which are used in hanging baskets.. I bring the baskets in when the nights turn cold and give them a good trimming.... Late winter, early spring they start growing and blooming again and ready for the little ones when they start showing up the first week of May.....

Wonderful pics nanny and Dave!
That last one is way too cool Dave!
Great job Dave!
I love watching the hummers and trying to get a good shot. My photos are on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/quiltdiva/sets/72157606787504522/
Great seeing all the photos here too!
Very nice cactus! Love the other pics in your album.
Cactuspatch, thanks for sharing those. Its so good to see non-rubythroats. Hope to see some in person someday.
Nice pic nanny! How about adding it to the Daily Pics thread so it won't get overlooked. :-)
Hello Cuz,,, (Dave)
Those poses of the hummers are fantastic, as is all your beautiful photography with bluebirds.. I really enjoyed reading through them all... Thank you.....
...Dave
Would have been nicer if I put it on the right thread though!!! LOL
Thanks Uncle...
I do love the bluebirds and am always happy when someone else enjoys my pictures of them.
I am about to start a new thread. Since my adults are moulting and my youngsters will start their moult soon, I think I'll try to follow the moulting process. It should be complete for all of them by November.
Dave
wonderful pics!
Ugh Oh somethings wrong my pics won't upload.
That is a neat shot! I have a female here too but she is really stubborn about coming to the feeders.
nanny_56 I've not attempted hummer pictures yet. Yours are great!
Well just jump in when you can Trouble!! and thank you.
Hey,,, ya'll look like your having to much fun with your cameras... Nice shots everyone.....I spent the last couple days boxing up blueberry plants to ship out tomorrow... Did spend a little time watching the live feeds on the internet of the hurricane today as it hit Louisiana....Hope everyone down there that is affected from Gustav can get back to some sort of normality soon...
Haven't had any time to play with the hummers lately... Here is one from a couple weeks back... A newly named hibiscus seedling.... I was having a difficult time coming up with a name and then it struck me!!!..... Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend.....
..Dave
