Hello My Friends

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

Hang in there Kim;
We are all pulling for you.Things will get better, nothing ever stays the same, except gods love, he never gives us to much to carry.i know sometimes that does'ent seem right, but all so very true.

We really are a virtual family here. I pray for members in need here on DG just as I do for family members. We are , after all, one big family. It's just that gardeners are such great members of the Big Family, that they are stand out members of our little families. I lurk alot on the Ohio River Valley site and we have an "almost charter member" who has 6 girls, is expecting # 7, DH got laid off, computer glitch is preventing any unemployment checks so far, not a penney of income for almost 3 months. She is in my thoughts and prayers along with Kim and a few others I have come to know well by being a constant lurker. I know that I have become very wealthy in flowers since joining DG and I now realize that being rich in family and flowers is a great thing and does not carry with it the burdens of being wealthy in monetary ways. May He grant us all the things we need the most , the love to sustain us, and the strength to carry our temporary burdens. Lou

Lou you always have just the right thing to say when you pop out of lurkdom ^_^ I always enjoy your posts and the reminder of the good friends we've found here at DG.

I think of you each time I see the plants we swapped last year! Hope the Chirita's are still doing well for you too!

Still thinking of you Kim and keepin' you in my prayers too!

I've enjoyed reading everyone's story of inspiration, and yes... we have all been through similar circumstances. Hubby and I are going through something very similar with his 18 year old son, and it has been very difficult. In the long run, you cannot blame yourself. The old saying "You can lead a horse to water..." is so very true with teens when trying to teach them right from wrong. Eventually, they just have to make those mistakes themselves in order to learn from them.

I know I'm not on very much any more either, but I think of you all so much and so often and I do lurk! I miss you all and ask for blessing for each of you every day!

Hey don't forget I'm a "real life" friend... At least I better be after all that work of helping you clean out those plants that day! LOL

m3rma1d......how sweet of you!!
Have you (or has anyone?) heard from Kim?

I've thought of her often recently.

(Zone 1)

I had a d-mail from Kim last week and she had just started training at a new job so I'm sure she is staying very busy! Her DG subscription runs out this week and I don't think she is renewing right now. Hopefully she will still be able to log on and send d-mail once in awhile to keep us up to date on how she is doing.

Kim: If you get a chance to lurk any time this week, just know that we are thinking about you and wishing you all the best with the new job! Hope things have settled down with your son and that the family is all well.

((((( Hugs ))))) & Blessings,

Lin

Good to hear! Thanks, Lin! (Ü)

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I heard from her also and can't add much more than Lin did. She seems very happy and gave her gro light stand to her husband (who was thrilled to put his things on it).
She jokingly told me that she would start growing again when she was a grandmother, not working and had as much time as I do to play with plants. But she sounded very happy with her life right now.

Good Morning Friends :)

Everything is going SO great right now but my time to play on the net is very limited.
I have been training for a new position as a Customer Service Rep for Fairpoint Communications (telephone company) and have 3 more weeks of training after this week. It seems like it is going to be a fun job. The atmosphere is great and the pay/benefits are wonderful too.
I am learning SO much that my head just spins when I get home and usually I'm in bed at 8:30 or so *lol*

I have really lost interest in plants right now although I did keep my chiritas and nematanthus as those really were my favorites.

m3rma1d! How WONDERFUL to see you here! You will love it as the ladies that reside on this forum have to be among God's best!!! Hope everything is going great for you!

Josh came home and has been home for about 3 weeks now. He joined the Air Force National Guard and will be taking his physical and leaving for boot camp in the next couple of weeks. I think it has been the best decision he has made and he's so excited about it. He takes the dog jogging every day and does push ups etc. to get ready. It's nice to see him excited about something and even nicer to have him home only if it's until he leaves for boot camp.

On 9/25 I stayed up for 30 hours and helped my sister in law while she was in labor. It was a great time as I spent some "alone" time with my brother which really touched my heart. My sister in law ended up having a C-section as the baby weighed 10 pounds 3 ounces. It is their 4th and last boy.

Any "down" time that I have had lately (which hasn't been much but I try to fit an hour in here and there), I have been crocheting like a mad woman. I have made about 7 doilies for Christmas and now I'm working on a few things to put in my husband's grandmothers hope chest for a "hopefully someday" grand daughter. I am making this beautiful dress right now which is all made out of thread. It's size 2T so it's taking me forever it seems but it's fun. I found 2 new designers and fell in love with their patterns so I have 4 new patterns to attempt once I'm done this dress..........oh no, am I getting obsessive/compulsive again? *lol*........well you all know me........I don't think that will ever change. *lol*

My subscription ends on 10/11 and I won't be renewing it but I want EVERYONE here to know just how special you all are to me and how I love you all. Each of you has touched my heart in a special way and I will never forget any of you! I'm hoping to get everyone's addresses etc. before my subscription ends so I can send a card now and then or something. I can't thank you enough for all the sharing of plants and stories and heart touching words you have all shared with me. You are all always in my thoughts and prayers :) I may re-subscribe someday (when I start growing plants again or something) but for now I'm just going to take a little break, focus on a new career, pick up my hobbies and take it easy.

Love to all of you, now and forever!
XOXO

Kim, take good care of yourself! I hope you'll still pop in from time to time via Dmail and the unrestricted forums... we'd love an occasional update on how you and your family are doing! Your new job sounds like something you're really well suited to (I know I love getting a friendly & helpful customer service rep -- they're all too rare, it seems!). I understand needing to take a break and focus on other things for a while, but you'll be sorely missed! *HUGS*

Your update made my day Kim! I'm very happy to hear that things are going well and you are in a good place with yourself and family! I love my dish clothes from you so much that I am considering learning to knit just so I can always have them on hand, I'll think of you every time I pick up the needles! Wishing you the very best!

WOW, thank you SO MUCH Everyone!
It was SUCH an awesome birthday indeed. I share the day with my son so it's always a special day for me.
We went to dinner together as a family which was nice and at my new job my friend brought in a little cake. I was very touched.
My subscription ends today so I wasn't sure I'd be able to even sign on but I want to say before I leave just how much you all have touched my life. I will never forget the friendships I've made here and the love and generosity that has always been so freely shared here.
I shall miss you all immensely!!!

Thank you so much for thinking of me, it really touched my heart.

Best wishes to you all and to all a huge hug!
