See this cute little micro mini sinningia 'Rio das Pedras'?

Well, I just traded for it, with a sweet member of this forum. I purchased a tiny dollhouse hanging basket just for it.

I was so proud of it, and intended to use it in one of my miniature garden terrarium scenes...and then....

this little rascal ATE IT!

He was caught "red-handed" by my husband. :0(

He had already eaten the plant and half the soil, and was working on mangling the hanging basket's wire

I don't know how he got to it, because it was in an apothecary jar and the lid was not even broken?

lololololololololol. for a creature so adorable, I guess "punishment" is giving him 100 hugs a day, instead of 500....

Ellerbe, NC(Zone 8a)

LOLOLOLOL I don't know which is more adorable......the hanging basket or that guilty little face.

Sorry about the plant though!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Oh, Seedpicker_TX . . . I'm upset for you, but at the same time . . . aww, how cute! I'm conflicted . . . I can't imagine how you feel!

What a cute idea on hanging the micro-mini's! I don't have a micro mini sinningia to send you, but I have a few micro mini AV's, if you'd like one of those?

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi Nery!(she has met these little creatures)

av_ocd_girl-thank you for your condolences...I love him, but I am still mad...:0)

Syrumani-Thank you for your offer of a mini av, and I may take you up on that, but still really focused on my micro mini sinningia getting replaced...*sigh

I thought I had learned my lesson... Earlier this year, this little gal ate one of my special AV's that another sweet member of this forum had traded to me.

Fortunately for me, we were able to arrange another trade. I have that one up high in my kitchen window, now.

But, I had really thought with the plant being protected within an apothecary jar, and it not just sitting out in the open, that they would not be able to get to this one...wrong!

It is just a window I'd really like to use, because it is one of my brightest windows, but unfortunately within their reach

I can't distinguish them. Pls tell me it wasn't Fifi. No fashion maven should be so naughty. This reminds me of when my pooch ate my tamales from a fave mex. restaurant. I was hot and ready to strangle the mutt...I forgave him but I can't say I have forgotten.

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

This is a picture the trader posted of the special av that Fifi ate & I had to trade for, again:

maybe AVs taste like chicken

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Nery-
The first two are of the boy, BEzer.

The second two are of the girl Fifi(look for the hair clip)

and in the last photo, Bezer is on the left, and Fifi is in pink on the right

Here is my fashion diva plopped on my lap, in her pink shoes we picked up shopping that time:

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Fifi ate the AV a few months ago...and BEzer ate the sinningia just last nigh...:o(

Yes, your Fifi, is not as innocent as she looks!!

I guess the pup is OK? I know they can be chewers and eat things they shouldn't, can be scary!

What darling doggies!! I love sweet little dogs so much.

I dress Trudy all the time. Right now she is sitting on my lap because she doesn't like the thunder we have right now.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I must not be a dog lover (I thought I was) but I would never forget any animal eating my plants up. (LOL)

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Cedarnest-
Yes, Bezer(prounounced BEEzer from little rascals), says to tell you "thank you". :0)

I wrote you a dmail about the particulars. thanks again!

Sally-
yes, pup is ok...I already knew he'd be fine, since I'd already been through this previously with Fifi eating the african violet. Vet at that time just told me it would up set her tummy and come a little on the messy side(which it did!..euw), but the micro mini was so small, that it didn't affect the boy whatsoever, lol...

Trudy looks quite at home in her pink accsessories :0) I think most dogs LIKE to wear outfits, because they love all the attention they get...all the ooos and ahs... :0)

I don't really feel I have a choice in winter, though...mine get SO cold, they can't wait for me to get a sweater on them.

Spider- did Spider win or place in that event? I have a yorkie buddy and she is trying to talk me into showing Fifi. I have never entered any of my pets in any sort of contest, athletic, or otherwise, but I think it would be fun.

Gail-well, all is forgiven, now, since cedarnest came to the rescue...besides, aren't kids a lot more destructive than dogs?

Thumbnail by seedpicker_TX
(Zone 1)

Oh My Goodness ... where to begin? LOL ... well, I think I will begin at the bottom and work backwards!

Seedpicker: Are those your babies? And ... what in the world is it that they got in to?! My, what a mess you (or somebody) had to clean up! But, it looks like those two had a really fun time ... I see that big grin on one young man's face, Too Cute!

Spider: Your "Spider" is adorable, I too want to know did he win the race? Is he a Whippet? The Mini Greyhound? I've heard they are wonderful pets!

Sally: I've seen pic's of your baby "Trudy" before ... she is just so cute with her ribbons and bows! Looks like she enjoys posing for the camera too!

Seedpicker again: I LOVE those little mini hanging baskets! Perfect for micro mini sinningia's! I think Cedarnest has the same idea that I do ... I would love to find a couple of those for potting the micro mini sinningia's! Perfect size! Now ... about those Adorable babies of yours! I LOVE Yorkies ... always wanted one but our dogs have always been large breeds, usually mutts from the shelter! Are your yorkie's puppies? They are so tiny! I've heard of teacup poodles and your babies are so tiny, they look like teacups or micro mini's! Fifi and BeZer, perfect names for those two.

The only pets in our family at the moment are 4 older kitties! One loves chewing on any and all plants. I really have to watch her closely! It amazes me that she has not gotten sick from eating certain plants, but I guess it's because she just nibbles and I usually catch her before she can ingest much!

A lot of plants are highly toxic to animals and if a small animal eats a lot of a toxic plant it can do serious harm. One of my cats seems to prefer only AV's! I'm down to only 2 or 3 AV's right now (not from kitty eating them, LOL) and have to keep plants off the bottom shelves of my stands to keep them from being eaten! I buy cat mint (catnip) plants in the produce department at the grocery store whenever I find it, and the cats love it.

(Zone 1)

Oh, Forgot to say:

Gail: So glad you are doing a bit better and feeling up to visiting the Garden! We sure miss you when you are absent! I hope you recuperate quickly but just go slow, take it easy and try to stay stress free. LOL, that's a lot easier said then done I know, but I've heard that stress can cause a shingles outbreak. You've had a lot of stress lately with the dental work and all ... I sure can't imagine going through all you've been through the past month!

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Lin-
No, those aren't my kids, but it is kinda the same as with the pups...one look at those faces, and you can't get TOO mad...although after I showed it to hubby, he said "sure hope it was water-based paint, and not oil", lol...

I found that on a redneck joke site about reasons why not to have kids, lol...

Yes, they are micro mini, just like the sinningias :0)

Fifi is only 2 pounds 2 ozs. My "biggest" girl weighs only 3.5
Here is a picture of the whole crew. Lucy is on the far left(not exactly her most complimentary photo... I whistled, and she got the stangest look on her face!, lol), Daisy second from left, then Bezer, and Fifi on the far right.

Yes, Fifi looks ticked-off...she was! Bezer had just stolen her chew bone, lol...notice the extra fake "innocent" look on his guilty face :0)

Bezer and Fifi are exactly the same size, but Fifi just has a LOT of hair, so in some pictures, she looks bigger than she really is...

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Here is a MUCH better photo of Lucy. She is the "big" girl that is 3.5lbs and that is little Fifi on the right(2lbs)

Ohhhh...All these cute critters and babies!!!

This race took place last year. It was a dog/human race of just 1 mile. I never thought Spider would want to run, just to play with the other dogs but, when the gun went off he ran so fast. He just dragged me and we got 2nd place!!! Italian greyhouds or miniature greyhounds or iggys are the most sensitive and friendly dogs I have ever come into contact with.

He is just a wonderful inseparable friend.

(Zone 1)

Seed: Those are just the best photo's! They look like they just pose for the camera! I've been told that photographing kids and animals is very hard ... you take great pic's!

Spider: Ok, so your cutie is an Italian Greyhound! I saw an old man in Pet Smart a year or so ago and he had a miniature and he said it was a Whippet/ Miniature Greyhound. They look to be about the same size as the Italian Greyhound. Maybe he meant his was a cross between the two.

(Taylor) Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Spider-
wow, 2nd place! That is great!! I think male dogs make the best companions for female humans. My favorite yorkie of all time was a male. I still miss that "little man".

Lin-thank you. I think they they are just used to cameras, because I've been snapping their pictures since they were just 6-8 weeks old. But, now Fifi...she is a HAM! She actually takes whatever she is doing and takes it up a notch or two, when she sees the camera, lol...I've seriously thought of hiring her out to do yorkie "modeling" because she loves the camera so much ;0)

Here is my favorite little man of all time, being held by my other favorite man of all time :0) He was 17 1/2 years old in this picture and lived to be 18. He sat like a person and loved clothes, lol...when he died I was so heatbroken, it took four to replace him, but still not fully "replaced". My hubby often accused me of loving Willie more than him :0)

Sally-
That made me chuckle about the coke can...I can't tell you how many yorkie puppy photos that I've seen, that use a coke can for size reference...too funny.

What a cute little cart? Great pictures. Very professional.

oooh, Lil' Wil-ster is such a handsome little guy! Nope, we can never, ever replace the ones who have gone before. They will be waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge .. I truly believe that!

This is for anyone who has every lost a fur kid: http://www.indigo.org/rainbowbridge_ver2.html

Brings tears to my eyes every time I view it but I think it is the best version out there because the music is so beautiful too.

My Mom was always a huge animal lover, we grew up always having cats and dogs in the family. Mom lived near my sister and brother in law in South Florida. My sister and her husband have 2 large dogs and also had their son's dog at the time. Mr. Bear was part yellow lab and part mastiff, very large. He was very attached to my mom. Whenever she was there he would lay down on the floor and rest his head on her feet. She loved it! He just seemed to gravitate towards her whenever she was there. She just loved that dog so much. Well, a few months after Mom passed my sister called me telling me that Bear was sick ... they had him at the Vet's a few times and he was diagnosed with cancer. He died about a year after our mom. But, the strange thing is, a few weeks before I heard that Bear had died, I had a very vivid dream of my Mom walking down her street and "Mr. Bear" was walking beside her! I have never had a dream that seemed so real. The rainbow bridge story says our pets are waiting for us but I think my Mom was waiting for her grand dog!
