Summer Lilies Part 9
I`m sorry for the last one. The picture dissapered.
grapus, if I'm remembering my terminology right, Uchida is a selection of speciocum rubrum, a selection being one out of a group of seedlings that showed the best qualities that is then named and cloned. Someone jump in and correct me if I'm off on that, LOL.
I started a Lilies of Summer part 10 http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/898552/
Do anyone have pictures of them bouth? I think it is virus on my computer that make it impossible to bring my picture to the forum.
Magnolialover have a picture of Uchida, but for me it seems just like rubrum or opposite.
Remember, Lilium speciosum var. rubrum is a botanical variety, not a cultivar. Thus, rubrum can vary in its coloring, depending on its genetic make-up. But Uchida is a cultivar; its genetic make-up is not variable. In other words, the genetics are always them same for each Uchida plant.
What this means is that Uchida will always have the same coloring, while rubrums include many shades, and some could look like Uchida.

Grapus, you probably already found this in the FAQs (Frequently asked questions) at the top of the page, but just in case, I copied it here:
