Hi Everyone...it is time for a new RTH thread. Here is a link to the previous one http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/880060/#new .
The Hummers in our area arrived late this year but they are made up for the late start in provided hours of entertainment for us!
This Juvie male likes to perch on the chain link fence!
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds Vol. 8
Rose, you've captured his "don't mess with me" look so well. Real intimidating.
Quoted:
Do you all really think the hummers are starting to migrate??
Adult males move south first, earlier than females and juveniles.
Resin
Now that you mention it, Resin, we don't have many males. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!
(How do you do that box thing-y with a quote??)

Pelle - You said, "Yes the banders down south are reporting this." How south are we talking about where these banders are?
I can't believe they are already heading south again. Sheesh! It seems like they just got up north.
Its just the start of it. La. and Alabama.
Beautiful start Rose. Thank You!

Awww ... how cute!!!! :-)
haha… that first asclepia picture is like Where's Waldo.
Where's Hummie?
lol. I knew someone would wonder where Waldo was!!!
Burn..you really had me going...I thought I was missing something!! LOL!
Handsome guy, Pelle!!
I just re-hung my feeders. Everyone send HB Karma my way!!
The pictures of these darling little birds remain an ongoing delight to the hummingbird deprived. Thanks.
Yayyyyy. Rose Karma.
What great shots y'all are getting.
Dave - What detailed shots you got of the two hummers! I wish I had that problem here. I usually only see one at a time. I've never seen 2 or more at my feeders.
Question: Since it's been less than a year since my first hummer showed up, will more find my yard or will it be the same birds year after year?

Could be either.

Thanks, Resin. I will wait and see what the future holds for these adorable birds! :-)
Cute Rose! Love all your little guys everyone.
They do like monarda, Burn, and phlox, and perennial verbena.
