Daily Pics Vol. 128

Marlton, NJ

Beautiful pics knif!

Are the ones on the feeder Chaffinch and Blue Tits?

Cramlington, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Yes Pell, I also saw nuthatches but couldn't get a decent photo. Unfortunately the hide was full of noisy children which spoiled the experience for my sister and I. She had binoculars with her so that was great!

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Love your Chaffinch knip, And your Sanderling shot is nice.
Nanny, I've notice a decline in birds also.Haven't seen the Goldfinches or the Warblers and the Grackle for a few days.
Beautiful bird Rose.

Can't resist. She is a bird, and she's my very first chicken. I know she isn't a wild bird, but I was watching her a lot tonight, because we just got her! So that does count as bird watching, right? :-) I'm so excited. She's a Partridge Rock, and her name is Dame Henny Penny of Halifax Hen Manor.

PERTH, Australia

Thanks, Pelle. Hey, you must get up with the birds.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

It has to either a crow or TV I presume. I kept waiting for it to change postions so I could see it better.

I just have to say wow at so many great pictures!

I finally got out with a camera the other day. This is a fun one with a Chickadee ready to go to a feeder.

Here's another chickadee that seemed curious by me standing near the feeders. It came over to this crabapple and hopped around being curious. I cropped it so you could get a good look.

Here's a Rose Breasted Grosbeak checking out the dining options. Taken from inside, through the deck, so sorry for the iffy quality.

I'm excited to say that the Grosbeaks brought their kids here (at least 2 different pair), and I've been seeing either a lot of females or both females and young ones coming by. So happy they are returning, perhaps a new regular??

And I got lucky enough to capture the elusive hummingbird, which typically stays for less than 20 seconds and zooms off. I have ocassionally seen a hummer at the globe thistle and monarda I've got near the feeder, so I'm happy to see those plants are working. Not too much interest in the lobelia from what I can tell. And was surprised at the globe thistle (the white one at least), didn't expect that.

I also got a snapshot of a hairy woodpecker on the big maple, waiting for me to leave.

Finally, I had a mystery guest (which prompted me going out with the camera, but of course it was gone by then). This is taken from inside through a screen, so the quality sucks, but I think you can get an idea of the bird. I have no clue what kind of bird this is, any ideas?
