Link to the Field by Field PlantFile search

Would it be possible to have a link to this search feature on this page? http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/adv_search.php

That search feature is hard to find and I think having a link there would make it easier.

I wish I could have a link for that page at the top of every page. I hate having to click on guides & info and then have to click on plant files and then have to click on search for plants!

I admit, I am a bit lazy sometimes! Usually I bypass all of the above and go to google and type in: detailed information for _________ (the plant name.)

LOL, Lin, I do that too!! It gets me to Plant Files quicker than I can get there from here...LOL

I use PF so much (more to add photos these days, than to search for info) that I have that page as a quick tab on my Firefox bar.

I put the Plant Files in my personal menu on my home page, I find that makes it easier for me.

I'm with you -- the PF search is something I go to from pretty much every other area of DG, and it would be great to have a little shortcut "button" to click... maybe just a little "PF" icon right next to the gold box "tags" icon?

I think Victor may have a good solution in the meanwhile... I'll have to set it up as a FF tab so it's there when I open up my browser, just like my DG homepage and weather.com. :-)

Did you ever hear from Dave regarding this?
It would be alot easier if we had a tab linking directly to the search engine as requested by Joan in the first post.

I second weegy12. The loss of direct access to Plant Files was the one thing I complained about when the top tabs got changed a while back A permanent icon which appears on every page and links straight to the Specific Search entry form would do me fine. So often, when you are chatting away you just want to check something and it breaks your train of thought to have to go through so many clicks to find out what you want to know.

The other reason I think this is a good idea, is that Plant Files is in many ways, the heart of Dave's Garden. As someone said earlier in this thread it is the reason so many of us are here as it was a PF listing which caused us to find DG in the first place. We want to actively engage the membership in using PF so lets make it easy! I can't believe how often I am asked questions by DG members which they could have easily solved for themselves with PF - it's like they don't know it's actually there for them to use!
