How to skip pages quickly

Gisborne, New Zealand

How do I skip from page 9 etc to page 300+ quickly. When I close down and want to go back to last page I was looking at I have to go through by blocks of pages. This might sound as if I'm being picky but our dial up is very slow and if it takes too long the internet is stopped and I loose all the pages I have just gone past. Can I search for the forum and the page I want in some way. I'm not looking for anything specfic just interested in what has gone before. From 1 to 600 is a lot of pages to get past. Hope you can help.please.

You could always write down the url and type it in as your starting place. For instance
http:// davesgarden. com/community/f orums/f/yumyum/all/60

Please note that I left some spaces in the link above so that you would be able to see it rather than it becoming a hyperlink and you wouldn't be able to see the url. If you decide to retype it to see if this works, please don't put any spaces in between the characters.

If you want to fast forward through some pages, you can also just change the number at the end of the url. If I change the number at the end of the example above to 300, it takes me to page 6 of the 46 pages in the vegetable gardening forum. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/yumyum/all/300

I hope this isn't too confusing. It's hard to explain.

Thankyou JoanJ, of course its hard to explain especially to someone who fly's by the seat of their pants, so to speak. Is the url the http,
bit. Why when you put in 300 do you only get pg 6? is 50 the equivalent of 1 page, Sorry, I always start magazines from the back too.
Do I search the http when I turn on my copmputor like a www. If this is a nuiscance just tell me to go away.
Why can't I just type in forum and the page no. it would be so much easier. Just asking. Thankyou Lesley.

Awchid, at the bottom of each forum are links to all the pages within that forum. So if you want to get to the very oldest threads within a specific forum, that's the fastest way to navigate to there.
