It sure is coming along! Wow it was a while since I looked at this thread and it sure is moving along! I think you will need a vacation when that is all done!
Rock Wall Construction
He IS doing a more than fantastic job, isn't he?
Victor to be clear - is a few inches three or two:)
Hopefully this weekend i'll make more progress than last. I need one of those days when the rocks just fit together. when you stuggle it get's tough and best to walk away. i've had time when the next day rocks that did not fit just fell into place.
Wow, beautiful job Bill! What do you do for your day job? Move mountains?
I'll leave that to you, Bill. ^_^ I'd hate to be your wheelbarrow!
Gosh, Bill, is it the weekend again already???? Wow, it truly seems just like yesterday that I was ribbing you to get busy on your wall since it was the weekend! Well, here we go again.....great expectations!! LOL
Hope the rocks fit together like a charm! Can't wait to see the red DLs moved away from the offending roses. LOL LOL
nice - i have to tell you last weekend was pretty hot and hunid and your voice/email was in my head to get something done. i have weeding to do and some trimming of trees and it is going to be hotter than last week!!
i also wanted to take picks of all the rocks, walls. ect.. for your other thread and find time to post them????
i"ll see what i can do.
next week i'll be camping and kayaking so save your fork for the week after.
you crack me up.
Well, I hope you have at least moved those daylilies by now. It's almost 2:30 on Saturday......because of the extreme heat and humidity, why don't you take a break now and photograph all the other rocks for us? LOL
I hope you were taking pictures instead of building that darn wall today! No way you could stand this heat!
in the yard by 7:30 and just out of the shower. added about 4 ft. to the wall. pics to come. and spent morinng weeding.
Bill, what did you do with all the picket fencing?
some of the picket fence will be destroyed because it is rotting. the rest is saved although i do not know for what and may be thrown out. the 4x4's will be used for something. one i dug a post hole 30" deep ysterday to hold up a wisteria that will be a tree some day.
here are some pics from yesterday's progress. slow going!
I can't imagine how you get anything done with the heat and humidity we have been having. That wall is so neat, a work of art in the rock wall world I'm tellin' you.
Very nice, Bill. Hope you did not weed and kayak at the same time. (With you, it would not shock me!)
weeded first
Woohooooo! AttaBoy, Bill! Tote that barge! Lift that bale! Just look at how long that wall stretches out there! It looks like it stretches for miles! LOL .....very nice stones you've featured in the wall. I REALLY like those red daylilies. In fact, I like the whole project. Great job this weekend!
Bravo Hercules!
Nice job.
thank you
looks great... you must have been dying today... I know I was and not even lifting all those heavy rocks
What an enormous job, you must be really proud.
Gee, Bill. I love what you are doing with the place!
Keep up the good (hard) work, Bill!
Keep posting, this is so interesting to watch., even more so since you are doing all the heavy lifting. Looks just great Bill. :)
Absolutely wonderful. Yes, thanks for keeping us posted about your progress.
wha: you are amazing. I used to be able to dead lift about 80lbs. For an old lady, that's not bad. But I can only do that on "good" days now. Still, I am happy to have those "good" days. Worked for a vet, and would have to dead lift an unconcious labrador. Needed help with the mastiffs. I'll have to see what size rocks I can dead lift around here. Real women never use a fulcrum! You've done an amazing transformation of those areas, wha. You deserve to have a medal - maybe a baby rock around your neck?
thx all - no baby rocks aorund neck though - not a jewerly guy:)
i'll have more tomorrow to post.
Looks great! I'm especially impressed that you are able to build that wall and not kill any of the plants! My husband built a wall two years ago and I moved EVERYTHING out of his way. He always says he'll be careful but 15 years of marriage and I've learned not to trust that...(He does excellent work, but if there's something breakable or fragile, it will always be the one thing he drops a tool, rock, what have you on!
Bill it's really looking great!
