Dave, If this exists here, I can't find it. How about a "My Tools" called conversions. For example, when I go to the nursery to buy perlite, I can find small bags of 8 quarts, but the larger bags are two cubic feet. Different sizes measured in different units to confuse the buyer. A nice table showing 2 cubic feet = ? quarts and other similar conversions would be handy and really helpful.
So, is the cost per quart (or per cubic foot) worth it to me to do the extra lugging and storage.? An easy conversion table would help make that decision.
You run into this problem all the time. Vendors don't want you able to compare easily.

So a 2 cubic foot bag of perlite is roughly equal to 6.5 8 quart bags in volume.
However, still think a conversion table of gardeners measures would be helpful. You could have different tables for different countries to accommodate local differences.
Krowton...I got this:
2 cubic foot = 51 quart [US, dry]
(rounded off)...
I make some mistake? Did it at "Volume Conversion" here:

I agree with you...a specific garden measurement conversion page would be helpful.
Ok then divide 51 by 8 to get the number of 8 quart bags, which lets you compare pricing of the two cubic foot bag with the 8 quart bag. At my local nursery, perlite goes for $4.99 per 8 quart bag while the two cubic foot bag was $17.99. So if you bought by the 8 quart bags an equivalent amount, you would end up paying $30.00. So buying the two cubic foot size would save you $12.00, not including tax savings.
