Yep, female Indigo Bunting

I am constantly turning to take a second look, thinking what is that tiny bird, only to find out that is a baby something. The black capped chickadees were just so cute and the baby sparrows have no fear, they are always surprising me when I head to the feeders they are the last to leave.
Here is a shot of some of the Doves.

Thanks Resin! I thought I was confusing myself...but her and the male were talking so I thought it had to be!!

The most seemingly innocuous material can prove so fatal. What a horror shot, tiger.

Great pictures everyone.
I got a great surprise yesterday. I was on the deck, with camera in hand and ready for any action, and who lands on the rock by the stream? A beautiful Cedar Waxwing. I was only able to take this shot.

And this fellow, paid me a visit also. I hadn't seen them in quite some time.

I caught a few more at the feeders today. Just wasn't quite fast enough, the Cardinal almost made it out of the shot completely.

Thanks Pelle and Nanny.
Well had a hard time with this one, wasn't sure if I also had Female Purple finches in this. Had to ask Resin. All are Pine Siskens, with an American Goldfinch.

Beautiful shots, I just love the Cedar Waxwing. We have them in our area but I hardly ever see them at my house. I have a neighbor that lives closer to the creek than I do that tells me they come to his feeders all the time. Every so often they will come by in the winter/spring and hit the Juniper bushes for a day and then go. Just a huge group that must be migrating through the area. Here are the Jays, so bright and feisty.

Nice shots, Nanny

burn, the waxwing is splendid. It looks like it's just about to go off an rob a bank with that mask on.

Holly, are they Stellars Jays and is that a Mourning Dove?

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Holly, are they Stellars Jays and is that a Mourning Dove?

Blue Jays and Mourning Dove.

Steller's Jay is only in western North America; closely related to Blue Jay in eastern North America though.

Thanks Resin, Yes the first time my daughter went west and saw the Stellars Jays. She was amazed and called home to tell me about the Blue Jays they had out there. LOL According to her they are bigger and even more brazen than our Blue Jays.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Red-bellied Woodpecker...I keep asking them when am I going to see some babies here?? lol

Isn't it amazing that the brilliantly colored birds can seemingly disappear in the trees? The Lazuli Bunting's turquoise almost sparkles when the sun is on it.

Sorry this is so distant. These birds are shy and very wary.

You know it's hot when the birds are all open beaked.

Fun pics nanny! I'm surprised you haven't seen juvenile red bellieds around, I've been seeing 2 come in by themselves and another 2 come in with a parent.

tiger those Lazuli Buntings are so beautiful and of course I love the Stellers!
