Victor, What is that Maxima? A coneflower? I am crazy for it! I've seen pictures of rudbeckia gigantica, but never seen it in person. I would love to have some information on it.

Garden Photos - Part - 20
Nurseries used to think there was a tame variety, but really not & they are withdrawing them for sale. Great posting on the problem. We are part of the Ipswich river drainage with has a very low descent & often grows dry in the summer so there are watering bans. One tributary which flows through town is choked with loosestrife which makes a bad problem worse. Good ID on the gypsy moth. The front acre of our property is now sprayed with bt for winter moth which defoliates trees. Our back woods isn't reachable & I hope that the spray gets gypsy moths also. The problem is that the catterpilliars are prickly (see former photo) and birds don't eat them unless they are very young. I don't know their predetor in Europe.
Victor--thank you for the information on the sedum.
Yes, Pam, a rudbeckia:

Beautiful dahlia.
Good info on the loosetrife thanks
Thanks!
It is really more magenta than red in most light. i had one last year and really loved it - dug up the tuber and all, then forgot to store it properly. i was happy to find another this year.
Love that O&L with the lavender. What kind of lavender is it? Have you had the gaillardia get through a winter yet?
Pretty calla and hosta, cute red dahlia, pot o' nasturtiums and climbing or creeping ones too. Nice.
OMG - that Dahlia!!!
I'm gonna pull my hair out, what little there is left. I found out what happens to Magic Markers when they are out in the sun :-/ Everyone of my Dahlias, with the exception of a few are now NO ID's.
And to boot, the flipping JB's are chomping away on everything. I've been squishing them for a few days now.
Here's a nice purple/white dahlia.
Lots of JB's here too. Decimating roses that are ready for a second bloom. The lavender is Hidcote Superior and Hidcote Blue. I planted that same gaillardia last year and it did not make it. This area is much better drained so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I bought the pain markers, Thom, and we'll see how they stand up. Still have not gotten around to labeling with them.
Too bad about the JB 'sI found one on a Canna.
Despatched it pronto.
Pretty datura and you should be proud and the dahlia also is a good looker.
Thanks for the info Victor, I hope they make it this year. I only have found one JB, don't tell them where I am. :)
the fountain is very cool Clem
love both your dahlia & datura Hem
yeah for the first calla Donna
now I am wondering if the JB were the culprits on my mini tea rose.... not looking too good
Ah, but Victor, the question is how well will you stand up to the pain markers...? i understand why you haven't used them yet..!
^_^
I must've missed sumthin - what's a pain marker???
Ask Victor, he bought them...
Donna, gorgeous, I love those! Clemen
Thom has done it again with a DL--STOP showing them--I am drooling! Sorry the ID didn't work out, Victor---Cannon Went foliage was very blue for me--maybe you have a linaria hybrid. amy--I am guilty of having a loosestrife bought at U of New Hamp. many years ago--we live very close to a river, & I haven't seen any near it--however, the good news is an imported beetle does gobble up loosestrife, roots & all--the bad news? What else does it gobble up? Have not seen any JB's yet--they probably drowned! Here is a very purple astible--the flash lightened it somewhat.
Nice, amy! Your dahlia was a beauty as well--mine are budded, but no flowers yet!
