My plumeria are starting to bloom, this one, California Sunset being the first! Woo hoo!
Thanks Kathleen for this one!
Mine have started!
Congrats, Louise! Right on! Love that orange glow.
Oh me too! And it smells so good. Thanks Clare.
Yours looks better than mine, Louise - must be all that heat you love!
Must be it!
Awesome color ! Never have seen this one before striking color
Lovely!!
I think so too! Thanks guys.
wow, very pretty orange.
Thanks Lili...did the cutting make it for you?
It's doing OK. Originally, I put the container in my pine island and one of the squirrel dug it up and broke the smaller branch off. I stuck it back in the container, but it did not make it. The other part seems to be OK but it feels soft, so I'm worried that it might have gotten to much water from the recent rain that we had. The container is sitting in my driveway right now, getting direct sun. I hope that will dry out the soil.
I sure hope it makes it. Those little varmints sure can ruin things can't they?
Yes. Thanks for asking.
;-)
They are very similar huh Clare? My blooms look misshapen compared to yours..I sure hope I get a bloomhead close to that.
Louise, it looks great. Mine is still blooming and putting out more buds. They don't open all at once, but quite a few at a time.
So good to know Clare.
Thanks Kathleen, I wouldn't have this one if it weren't for you.
I got those at the greenhouse site. In the past it was all palms for the landscape trade, etc., though he does sell to anyone. Supposedly, at his house he has his "special" plumerias, but I've not found the place yet.
Oh how lovely. I had two "sticks" bloom from the co-op. was totally thrilled with that. They only had about 5-6 flowers at each (don't know the correct terms) inflorence (?) Was good enough for me but sure looking forward to the full bouquet.
Christi
Orange is my favorite color in plumies
I had to post again lol!!
What an awesome plumie you have!
Lucky!! (Napolean Dynamite voice)
Christi, this is the first time I've had such a big cluster (?) (I need to learn the plumie lingo!)
on any of my plumeria's. You should see it today, will either post a photo of it today or tomorrow.
Post away Malestrom!
I don't know any lingo either. Cluster sounds good to me.
As long as you all know what I'm talking about, that's fine with me! I don't mind being corrected either.
Well, that's a nice cluster, Weegy!
Lili, that is a NICE surprise, indeed. Beautiful color.
Very beautiful Lili!
Thanks Kathleen, this is the first time I've ever had a cluster like this. I usually get 1 or 2 flowers and that's it. I have 4 others that have nice inflos on them and am so excited to see them bloom, it will be their first bloom here since I got them. They're from Hawaii.
Look forward to seeing them. Could you wish me a few inflos, please? I keep seeing all these cuttings from the co-op blooming and wonder what I did in my past life!
Thank you Clare, I'm awfully happy with it!
Clare, It is getting full sun when we have it. We been having rain here everyday for about a week now. I guess I can't complain because we had a serious drought last year. I am concerned that my plumeria are getting too much water. They are all in a container.
Also, I noticed a few of my buds fell off too.

Well, I'm glad to hear you are finally getting some relief from your drought! I wondered how GA was doing with that. Hope your plumeria don't suffer, though.
Lili, they should be fine as long as they aren't sitting in catch trays that have water or puddles. It could be the lack of heat in your area that is causing bud drop. We're in a drought situation too, and I would love it if it would rain! That's great that you got some. Plumerias always seem to do so much better after a rain storm. There is something good in that rain water.
