and!! How cool is that little bity spider?

Took a closer look, yep!

You must be just excited too.

LOL it's not a spider, but a Wheel Bug Nymph, belonging to the True Bug family, it's an assassin bug. It will grow to about 1 to 1 1/2 inches long and they eat all of the bad guys on the plant! They won't eat good guys though, here's a picture of a Daddy Long Legs spider and a different Wheel Bug, they're not trying to eat each other! The Wheel Bugs are more poisonous that that spider, but the spider moves A Lot faster. I have 3 Wheel Bugs now, and that the sunflowers are big they walk from plant to plant eating everything in their path. When they get to adult size they'll have wings and they will fly, then breed, then lay eggs, then die in the fall. I started out having a bad leafhopper problem, now I have just a small leafhopper problem. They move pretty slow, but it's really cool watching them attack another bug. They see Very well, too, they follow me around when I'm walking next to the plants.

Seed - The one that you wanted me to chart her opening... she was half way open this evening when I got home from work. I'll take a picture tomorrow, I think she's completely dark, and she's not as big as it looks like she would be. Some of them have double and triple flowers on them, I can't wait til they're in full bloom!

This is so exciting, I've never grown flowers before!!

Oh my, I'm an hour late for bed, that's gonna hurt in the morning LOL!

Hi Crissy,
Wow, well you've grown some real beauties!
I am excited to see, how the one is almost open. Very neat to watch flowers open. I find it to be quite magical.

That one up above posted at 6:32 is awsom, it reminds me of a huge eye.
The sun flowers that have grown for me have been gifts from birds. Haven't had any this year though, so I am enjoying your lovies!

Here is one of my favorite shots!

I've been bad about the pictures, I keep waiting One more day because every day they change! I know I took some the other day, but they're not very good pictures.

Here's the one you were waiting for to open, I'm glad I gave it a couple of days. She actually opened completely yesterday.

I love the pedals on yours, and the 2 tone center! Very, very nice!

Taking pictures at night is kinda nice, you almost get the full color schemes.

The tall one in the middle is the one I took at 6:32 the other day, see how much lighter the red is. That is so weird! The real tall one I'll post in a minute, it's almost completely yellow now, and it's starting to loose it's pedals already.

See...

I'm going to pull the seeds off of these when they're ready. Out of the packet I only lost two plants, one was taken out by a rainstorm and the other was taken out by the satellite internet guy, he stepped on it when it was barely coming up. Oh well. I'm hoping I get a slew of seeds from these. There are a ton more buds on them too.

Are you going to harvest the seeds from your plant? I think it's awseome with the pedals and two tone center. I keep going back and looking at it LOL Can't forget the bee!
