Latvia:
Summer Lilies
Tehehehe, I want them all too but don't have enough space to plant all the lilies I love. lol.
Hi Bev. I don't have a name for the tiger, it's a species lily I think. Just marked as 'Yellow Tiger Lily' from a Botanical Garden spring sale.
Kim
I very foolishly haven't labeled anything in this garden, so some of these that are similar I'm not certain of. I believe this is Menorca, but also have Salmon Pride and Salmon Classic that are possibilities too. I've got all the salmon and peachy colors in one general area, which at the time I thought would be helpful, but it may have just added to my confusion, LOL.
Edited for correction- I'm thinking this is Salmon Classic. According to the pics on the Wooden Shoe site, Menorca shouldn't have the spots.

Neal, I want to see some landscape shots of your lily beds. I bet they are fantastic! :)
Diann
Very nice shots there gemini.
I would agree Moby, the more species-like the lily, the tougher it is to get a good shot. 'Eurydice' is a nice one, isn't it?
OOoooh, I love that 'Eyeliner' from Faraway Flowers!!! Your 'Menorca' is much paler than mine, hummmm....
Kim
It is a very nice yellow, tho. :)
Neal, the virused one came from what co-op? Blooming bulb?
neal! that's the one I saw paired w/ the pale yellow and bright yellow lilies. it was so spectacular. I got that one but I don't recall seeing blooms yet.
Neal, your peach one does look like Desert Song http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/154676/
Most of the ones I got from Blooming Bulb we're not true to name, but the bulbs were big and firm. I'll have to look and see if there are any virus problems. I'm probably going to move the BB lilies down to The Land of the Unknown Lilies... Several are very beautiful, but I really like to know that I'm getting who I thought I was...
sorry to confuse you neal. I was thinking/talking about someone's garden where I saw they had pale yellow, brite yellow lilies and I think the Regale Album you posted grouped together. It was incredible.
Thanks, Moby! That does ring a bell. Its the most delicious looking color, like orange sherbet! Ok, I've hogged the floor for long enough, LOL.
Dianne, the ones that were infected were very obviously infected. I'd say you would have noticed if you had gotten any. "Land of the unknown lilies"- thats a good one, LOL! I think I have a few of those.
Oh Nery, if you recall where that post is I'd love to see it! That sounds beautiful! There is a pic that I think Magnolialover posted last year that is an image still burned into my brain of all these varying heights of OTs in mostly yellows and whites. I was so inspired, I'll either achieve something similar or die trying, LOL.
Neal, keep the pictures coming!!! You are not hogging anything! I think I have like four lilies blooming at the moment... I need to get the camera out, but I've really been a lazy slug lately..
Diann
Neal, it couldn't have been my picture, could it? I don't think my place has anything too organized about it. The only thing that would be burned into someone's mind is the many weeds here scattered amongst the lilies, maybe that's where the varying heights came from. Lol.
Beautiful, beautiful lilies! I'm enjoying the show and wishing I had more garden space and a bigger pocketbook.
I am absolutely speechless at the beauty of the pics in this thread. Awesome is such an overused word but the pics posted this year are truly so. I check this (and a couple other forums) several times a day but this is the one that leaves me sitting with my mouth open going "That is gorgeous", followed by a heavy sigh...My flower addiction has been dominated by lilies and another flower which shall remain nameless. I've come to the realization after this year's lily threads that the "other flower" shall become downgraded to merely a secondary passion as of 2009. Lilies are IT!
It is a joy to live vicariously through those of you who are having such incredible blooms. My babies are having a tough year as we had a long, late cold spring, a damaging hale storm which hit while I was out of town on a fishing trip and now a rainy, cold season Mother Nature is laughingly calling summer...I have another name for it. All have combined to make this a challenging year for gardening.
My weather woes are minimal in comparison to what others in the country are experiencing, so I keep that in perspective.
I've started my "have to have" lily list for next year, all of which are from the gorgeous photos you enabling DG'ers keep posting. Those who feel they are hogging the thread, PLEASE continue to Hog On...LOL...At the risk of sounding repetitious, please don't underestimate the appreciation all DG'er's have of the inspiring day brighteners you so generously share...Just wanted to say Thank You!
Barbara
