Sheila, I am glad things are looking better, I hope you will be able to go.
As for me I wish I could go, but I am so busy i don't even want to think about it.
Hopefully by October things will have slowed down some.
You all have fun, and be sure to give a good report of all the happenings.
Josephine.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

well don't rush things make sure you are both up to it don't want anyone getting sick
But do let me know so I can make sure to have your pine trees with me.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Mibus...Will do.

Josephine....I am afraid that is my problem. I am trying to get everything done before I have people over and I am pushing myself like I used to on weekends, but now it is everyday!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Sheila.. Patty got your beautyberry.. and I was soo proud of it.. It looked nice... lol I am not telling you this to upset you... just me being a newbie.. that beaytyberry was my fav!! I can dig another one.. And I want to meet you.. so I hope ya'll can make it!!

Josephine.. I know the feeling.. I am sooo busy too, but the addiction for the RU's is stronger than all the work I need to do... The RU is calling to me....LOL I will make plans for the Arlington RU for sure.. maybe that time I will be able to talk to you more.. just hope we will have a coffee pot that works!!!..lol

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey, I love that beautyberry! Got any more? :)

Sheila, I sure hope you can make it!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Beck...I wouldn't expect anyone to still have my plants. I pulled out so late and in this heat it is very difficult to keep small potted plants alive. Not that I wouldn't still want them if they were available...lol! I have one beautyberry, but I almost lost it a last year when three foot of the top died. In hine site, I think it was all that relentless rain we had last year. The lower limbs rebounded and are blooming now.
I told DH we need to take a break and go, so keep your fingers crossed.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

OK.. you 2.... I am going to the woods to dig after I wake up good enough... I am NOT a mornin person..... I am digging each of you one ... more incentive for sheila to come...lol... right Patty?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

:-)) Looking pretty good. At least he hasn't said no yet. Not that I couldn't come by myself, but he needs to get away some too. We have been working alwful hard this week.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Sheila.. not to put pressure on you.. but I went out in the HOT.. red bug laden woods and dug Patty's and your beautyberry.... today.... just thought you would want to know!!..lol hint hint!!
Your DH can sit with my DH.. since he just had that back surgery and then the hip replacement surgery.. I don't think he will be walking around too much!!

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Becki, you dug me another beautyberry???? In this heat? You're a doll!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

I did Patty.. lol... really wasn't that hot.. I waited till later this afternoon. . just trying to put a guilt trip on Sheila...LOL
You must be a night owl too Patty... I am soo tired.. but too tired to get up and try to go to sleep... but I am getting there..lol I am just too excited to go to another RU.. I am sure I will settle down when I get a few RU's under my belt... Maybe??

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Beck, I've been on DG since 2005, but have only been going to RUs for the last year. This will be my fifth since October. And it's still great fun! I love getting to meet "new" friends and see the old ones again.

But--hey--after awhile you start to run out of plants to share. LOL!

Well, okay, on second thought, I take that back. I have already given away probably 4 dozen coneflowers since fall. I dug up another 24 for this RU. You still can't tell that I ever dug anything out of that bed. Can you believe that? It's sorta like God looked down and said, "Let there be cones. Forever." ROFL!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Pattie I envy your coneflower bed, I love them and never seem to have enough of them.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Guilt trip worked. I will be planning my trip to east texas! Set aside 3 or 4 of those cone flowers with Josephine's and my name on them while you are at it. She won't get to come but I will see her before long I am sure.

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Sheila, I still have your Hercules Club Trees. Hoping I will get to come to and give them to you.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Sheila you are coming???!!!
ok will make sure to bring your pines with then ....hop over th the trades then there is alot of really neat stuff

Patti I am guessing these cones are not just the purple ones???...if other colors I would love ones other then the purple I have several purple ones I go this year

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Patty... well since this is the first year for daves AND really getting into plants.... I want you to know I have never had coneflowers.... Of course there is sooo much I never knew about , much less own..lol... I am glad some of you like the natives around here.. or I wouldn't have anything to trade!!
I am already to the RU's... It was soo much fun to see everyone and put the face with the names!! AND .. I am getting sooo excited for this RU... the sad thing is all the anticipation of the RU.. and then a few hours later it's over... just NOT enough time...
Yay!!!! Sheila..... glad you are coming !!!!!!

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Oh Becky!! You missed it today Girl!!! I went out to gather some of the natives and wildflowers for the RU. I got most of it done, but got a little sidetracked by the following that I found growing:

http://www.wildflower.org/gallery/result.php?id_image=23317

Just look and drool!!

I love you sooo much, I gotcha one! Heck, I knew you would ask, so why wait?

I have two more for trades any oinkers?

Charlene

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Okay, I'll add another dozen cones. :)

Nah, Phyllis, they're the "purple" ones, just the plain native Echinacea purpurea. Only for some reason I never think of them as purple--they are pink to me. I did put a couple of the fancy new hybrids out in that bed once. But they were just plugs, and it was too hot, and none of them "took."

Sheila, I'm so glad you can come!

Patti, Oink please, I would love to have about four of the coneflowers if you can spare them please.
Charlene

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Okay, I'll just bring as many as I can get into my car. :) Charlene, you know that digging more this late in the week, they may still be wilted on Saturday? They pout a few days after digging. But then they get over it.

Humble, TX

Y'all are too funny. LOL As if there aren't enough trade lists to follow for the East Texas RU. I wasn't going to go to another RU, but someone needed a ride, so I had to be nice and come. I guess we all get sucked in and excited about all the new possibilities of FREE plants. (She didn't have to twist my arm too hard to get me to go.) Fortunatly God does love to multiply plants so what ever our piggy friends get this year, they can share with the rest of us next year!
Tabitha

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Tabitha you are a sweety!! Patti, I understand the wilt thing. I just dug some wildflowers today and they will still be sad looking when I pass them around.

How did everyone's wildflowers that Beck and I shared fair? Have they come out of a wilt yet?

Charlene

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Patty I wasn't trying to lay a guilt trip on you too..lol BUT I would love to have some too... that is IF we can get Charlene out of the way....lol I am afraid we will need to be olympiads to get around at the ru.. soo many greedy gut oinkers around... maybe I do need to bring my G Daddies cane to fend myself!!

Tabitha.. yeah isn't it too funny?? Here we are trading up a storm and there are bunches over there?? LOL Oh well.. we are the insiders over here.. we aint telling nobody about it either..LOL

Charlene.. isn't that the same one we got?? BUT never mind that.. I WANT IT ..lol... Also.. did you get some more mexican hats?? The only 1 I got ..I am afraid it is more than wilted.. and that's the 1 I really wanted the most!!

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Becky, cut the top part off of the plant and it will come back from the roots. The best thing to do with those plants is to cut off the top when you get them anyway. The Mexican hats should also have some seeds on them and that is a good way to get a bunch of them.

I really don't know for sure if it is the ones we got or not. Someone, I'm not saying who now took all that were left. Here pig, here pig where'd you go pig? Pig, pig, pig, I can't find the doggone li'l pig. I just know they are awesome and if something is awesome that darned li'l pig wants one everytime!!

I sure wish that li'l pig would come to visit. LOL Why it's been forever!!

Charlene

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Miss Charlene.. I DID cut all the tops off.. just like you told me to... MOTHER..lol... and if there were anyseeds they are in the burn pile.... I only got ONE lil bit of the Mex. hat... Ok.. maybe I am not patient enough... AND FYI... I have no clue which lil piggy you are referring to... but if I see 1 I will let them know you are looking for them...hehehehehehehehe... oink oink.....
You better be nice or I am gonna plant those asters...lol
Oh... forgot to tell you Lyle made an appt for me with his back Dr in Houston.. I guess he is tired of me grunting all the time.. lol.. no I know he is worried... we are going Thursday.... I hate Drs.!!!!!!!!!!!

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.... gotta have fun while I still can..lol

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Becky dearest, I'd hate for you to have to suffer what with your pains and grunting (isn't that the sound that li'l piggies make?). I am glad you are going to the back Dr. I hope he tells you that it is just from waiting on DH and you are to take a break for a while and go visit your friend in Buffalo.

For your get well present, I'll bring you some more Mexican hats.

Charlene

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

OHHH wouldn't that be nice if the Dr says that.. but this has been going on for over a year.. course I have been waiting on DH 17 YEARS..lol... anyways.. TY TY TY for bringing me another mex hat.. I just love those things... they are sooo cute... If I ever get caught up....rotf... I would like to come see you again... gotta make it in the fall though.. lots cooler for a plant raid!!! LOL
WHEEEEEE!!!!!!

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Well, if some people woke up early enough the plant raids are not so bad in the morning.

When I was out yesterday, I never broke a sweat and I didn't have you hopping out ahead of me digging more than me this time. I did all by myself like a big girl! This morning I went out at 6:45 and got your Mexican hat. Piece of cake at that time of the morning.

Now, to decide if I should bring the all of the wildflowers I dug cut off and labeled or the whole plants. I can't decide which is best. I know they need to be cut off, but I want the recipients to see what they are getting also. Whadya think?

Charlene

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Charlene.. I thought you said you had those head LAMPS.... we could go out at midnight... course if there are any cops around.. I bet we'd be in jail..LOL.. I CAN wake up early for something I want though..

I think I'd bring them whole... and a pair of scissors.. then they could cut them off if they are needing the room.. like a few people I KNOW....wheee ain't this FUN???

Humble, TX

Cut it later so people know what they are getting. I would have no idea what it was unless I saw it because I haven't learned all the fancy dancy names or the less fancy common names. Then chop their little flower heads off before anyone takes them home. LOL You might want to bring something with you for the chopping.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Tabitha... "like" minds think alike..lol

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

You girls are great!! That is just what I will do.

Charlene

Humble, TX

Becky you posted before I was even done typing mine. I thought of that all by myself!

Dallas, TX

Sylvia ... trying to catch up as usual ... Sheila where did you get that picture of me and Charlene? LOL
I swear I was laffing so hard I could have wet my pants! Thats when we fell back and could not get up up. All I could do was lay there and laugh at myself. I just knew my bones was going to be a disaster ... but I didn't hurt any more that usual the next day. I emailed Kim's video to the office, they laughed and said I need to act my age ... some thought that was my ride to Buffalo! lol

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Silly woman....that is Tabitha's (madrid2000) picture. She posted it further up on this thread. I just copied the little blue post number and pasted it in my post.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Sylvia.. you missed a great time... you just need to tell those girls at the office YOU ARE acting your age... you just celebrated your 29th B'day!!!!! AGAIN...lol
