Female from yesterday...our pretty elegant lady.
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds Vol.5
Nice pic nanny!
Thanks for starting the new thread!
Hey Nanny, is that "Mrs. Ed?"
HEE.
Thanks for the new thread Nanny...your girl does look very elegant! Our little girls seem to be fighting lately and not too elegantly!
LOL..Mrs. Ed!!
I never LOOKED so slender and beautiful!!!
Real cute nanny!
Gorgeous
Did you take down all the other feeders Nanny, and just use the one you want to hand feed with? If not you might try that, It might do the trick. Love Ed.
Thanks Margaret.
No I didn't come to think of it! But last year it took a few days for them to get used to me. Then it was a free faor all! lol
Keep 'em coming. They're gorgeous.
Wow Mrs_Ed that's nice.
Nice going Marna!
Thanks Pelle!
Some of them were buzzing around my truck and I thought maybe I could entice them to come home with me!!! Still none here though. My penstemon has just started blooming and my black and blue salvia is almost open. So here's hoping.
Marna, they're beautiful
Beautiful shots Mrs. Ed...way to go!!
I can't put any of mine close to plants or the ants get in so I put potted plants nearby to the feeders.
Nice pics nanny!
Adorable shots Nanny...I really like that second one!
Nanny, the ants would be able to get to the feeder if it was touching nearby plants, but how do the ants access the feeder if the feeder is remote to the plants?
Margaret,
They crawl up the shepherd's hook and down the hanger to the feeder. That's why they sell Ant moats. The feeder that Nanny is talking about has a moat built in. They can't cross the water in the moat.
Shucks, I thought I was about to make my fortune by suggesting an ant moat. Foiled again!! We have a problem with ants getting into honeyeater nectar and have to place the nectar containers in bowls of water. They are an international menace, aren't they?
Darn, can't be rich. Can't blame those ants for trying to get some of the good stuff!
