cat scan??

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

im going tommorow for one and never had one and they gave me this stuff that looks like chalk to drink. has anyonme ever had one?

Waterman, IL(Zone 5a)

I've had many CT scans, but never had to drink anything first. Mine were of bone, that's probably why no drink. The stuff you're drinking will help them see what their looking for inside you. I'll take a CT scan any day over an MRI. I hope everything turns out ok for you.

(Zone 7a)

I've been with my mom when she had her three. They weren't too bad. And she preferred them over the MRI's, too. She was the wiggly kind of person and couldn't hold still.

I hope everything turns out alright, too.

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

that stuff was plum nasty. i had to drink tweo bottles of it. nasty nasty stuff.

results in 2 days so hoping it isnt too bad. scared though.

havent ever had an mri before either so dont know that one either. thanks

(Zone 7a)

We're all behind you, if you need us. Good luck!

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

thanks because im pretty scared tonight

im having panic attacks and dont know how to deal and really dont have anyone who lives close so i turn here.

Waterman, IL(Zone 5a)

We'll get you through it. It's a scarey time for you. Your mind goes nuts not knowing.

When they discovered I had a giant bone tumor I was scared to death even though the oncologist said these tumors were most always benign. The darn thing ate half my pelvic bone on the right side. You can imagine my relief when I woke up from my 5 hour-surgery and saw my doctor's face. The first thing he said was "we got it and it was benign". I had lots of people praying for me, I think it really helped. I'll say some prayers for you.

I know you're worried. Not knowing is the worst part.

Imzadi,
I believe what Pastime is TRYING to say that may have had quite the opposite effect is that you may be worried prematurely. Try not to worry so much. It may be nothing at all once the doctors are finished looking at everything. I know it's easier said than done but you should remember that your thoughts can also have a huge impact on your body's health.

Don't feel so alone. The thougts and good will of others are also a very powerful thing, no matter the distance. Call it prayer, good intention, mind over matter, whatever you want to call it but it does work.

I hope everything goes well and I wish you were located closer so as to help you not feel like you're all alone. I'm sure there are DG'ers near you who would also be happy to share their experience good thoughts (prayer) with you.

What BugFreak said.

Same from me. I do agree that "not knowing" is scary. Maybe your doctor can give you a mild sedative to help with the panic attacks.

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

i didnt hear back from the doctor today tried to call and see but they just said the doctor would call once he read the reports. i hate waiting.

this is so hard and im by myself in this and started a thread on the prayer forum but its so hard.

hopefully tommorow they will call . even if bad at least i will know something.

Prattville, AL

I hate waiting too. I think waiting is harder than the test. I do "what if" and get myself in a tizzy. Take some deep breaths, inhale through the nose and out the mouth slowly. Then what helps you relax? What takes your mind off things that you enjoy?
May sound silly but as you mention prayer, say one for peace of mind, reach out your hands and turn it over to God's hands.
Do you not have friends or family that could come and stay for the night? What about talking to your pastor or someone from church? It may seem like you are all alone but you never are.
This isn't always the best idea but have you ever tried some of the over the counter sleep aides? You appear not to be getting much rest and being tired always effects how we react to situations.
I live in Alabama and you are welcome to come for a visit. I can't come there as my husband is disabled and can't be left by himself. If not here, what about go see a close friend or family and you call the doctor mid morning and mid afternoon?
What have you needed to get done around the house and not done you could do. I hate to clean out closets and that always needs done usually. Rearrange rooms like you've been planning to do.
Just try to keep busy unless that makes you more nervous. Try to find something to help you relax and get a good night's sleep. Having someone to just talk to that will listen is very important so please try to think of someone that would understand and call them.
I sincerely hope you find some calm in your emotions soon. Take care
Lynn

Imzadi, didn't mean to add to your worries. Wasn't my intention. Just wanted you to know that sometimes all the worrying is for nothing.
