Amy - I have quite an extensive pig collection. Been collecting for 30 years.

Harper - I would love the red yarrow. I have a yellow to keep it company.

Louise - what is mondarda? I tried to look it up in plantfiles but nothing came up.

Did somebody mention strawberry begonia a while back and is that still available?

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

Aaaah. Thanks Debi!

Louise - I'd like some now that I know what it is.

Metrowest, MA(Zone 6a)

Nance,

Yep I have Strawberry Begonia. I will bring you some. They are actually not supposed to do well here in NE but mine have done great and doubled in size in the year I have had them.

Ok,since this is my very first RU I'm going to and I am digging up some Sib.iris and a big clump of Stella's I need to know if they need to be

potted up ?
how many to a pot ?
I might not have enough pots so what then ?

Can I bring them bareroot if the roots are wrapped properly ?

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i might be interested in another tomato plant, Deb - i'm not sure how well ours (from "Heirloom Mix") are doing.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Brigitte, I want some stellas... and yes just divide them up and bring bareroot... actually is a good idea...

Atkinson, NH(Zone 5a)

We would love any Iris, tall phlox, evening primrose (the old fashion ones) hostas..
BASICALLY ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING...WE LOVE IT ALL, Bee Balm,
lillies, columbine...You get it, if it is a flower, we love it.

This is an iris I have had for about 20 years...never bloomed much...divides all the time...Finally my husband cut down some trees, allowed some sunlight, fed them compost and YEA...BLOOMING...We will bring some of it...(no promises it will bloom, but they did for me this eyar).

gorgeous iris!

Love blue flowers and that one is pretty.

Has anyone ever grown bay leaves? We cant find plants or seeds up here.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I want tomatoes! (I can never grow enough because I can pasta sauce and I have already run out this year!) Bay leaves are from a tree. I have a little tree that grows in a pot. I sit it outside in the summer and keep it inside in the winter. Don't remember where I bought it though . . . The tree is laurus nobilis and grows really big - except if it is in your house.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

LOL, Cat - "except if it is in your house"!

I have, ready to bring (so far):

Monarda
Yarrow
Heuchera - purple palace, silver scrolls, and a green-leaf volunteer with pretty flowers
Lamium - both Red and White Nancy
Spearmint
Hardy geranium (pink/magenta)
lavender impatiens and leftover 'non-stop' begonias - need repotting but they're yours now!
Coreopsis 'moonbeam'
Ornamental strawberry - does anyone want some? I've never seen a fruit.
Whoops, forgot to mention creeping phlox

Anything Perenial, dang I am like a broken record !

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Sherrie, everything except the little annuals that need repotting is perennial, and it's all yours!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

nane - LOL - I guess you WOULD have trouble looking up the monarda the way I spelled it! Sorry about that! As you now know, it is bee balm, and I'll put your name on some. I'll also bring the following for those who requested it:
Liza and John: some old fashioned evening primrose; lavender monarda & magenta HG
Eglantyne: lily of the valley and magenta HG
Carrie - lily of the valley
Mellymass - magenta HG
Dave47 - magenta HG
nanegoat - lavender monarda
Did I miss anyone? Please let me know, if so!!!

I would love one of each of the following if you each have enough:
Liza - I'd love one of your blue iris's
Harper - may I have a red yarrow?
Carrie - I'd like a purple palace heuchera.
Pixie - I'd love one of your white lilacs if they aren't spoken for!
Amy - If you have any pink gazanias, I'd love one of those.
Kassia - If you have any primroses left, may I have one?
nanegoat - I'd love one of your lavender moonflower vines;
Candyce - If you have some magenta carpet phlox, I'd love some.

Thanks!
Louise

Thank you, Melissa! I'm actually planning on making it a house plant. I had one years ago and just loved it!

How in the world do you guys remember who is getting what...my head is spinning and I just started reading the blog.

John and I are just going to follow the tractor trailer trucks headed that way laden with Flowers...
Liza

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Liza - I just keep a pad/pen handy to make a list as I go through the thread. I'm still hoping I didn't omit anyone's request.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Louise - purple heuchera? Do you mean Purple Palace? I mean Palace Purple? I have plenty. I'll label one for you so we don't forget!

Metrowest, MA(Zone 6a)

Nance that is so pretty! I have been considering making one a house plant but havent gotten around to it.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Carrie - would that be spearmint you have, or lemon balm..?
^_^

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Okay, I'll pack up all my yarrow. It's not a lot though. You'll have to duke it out.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

This is, I believe, spearmint, it might not be what I gave you before, Amy, but to me it looks and tastes like spearmint, it acts like spearmint, it grows like spearmint (in a pot), it's good in iced tea and lemonade, it's not monarda citriona or there's another lemon mint which it isn't.

I'm bringing a lot of yarrow too, but it's not named. Well, its mother probably named it.

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

Melissa - I hate to admit that I killed that beautiful plant some 22 years ago. It's taken me this long to try again!

Harper - I'd think I'll lag behind and be the clean up crew.LOL

Carrie - "They call it marrow yarrow"...singing off key :-}

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Yes, Carrie....Purple Palace heuchera please.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Lovely, Allison! I'm searching for my boxing gloves! LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

could be fun for me to watch

:)

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

If anyone likes hot peppers, I'll be bringing 2 habenero pepper plants.

Nancy

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I will take one of the pepper plants!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Wow!
We are going to look like a farmer's market when we unload all our goodies at Kassia's next weekend! I'll bet we could make some extra $$$ if we lined everything up and sold to the neighbors, too! LOL!!

The main focus of today's gardening business for Anna and me is to go out and dig up and prepare all that we are bringing to the RU. Right now, as we are thinking about it, we are offering:

White daisies
Tiny little purple lilac bushes
Siberian Iris
Yellow Flag Iris (I think)
Magenta-colored carpet phlox

That's just on the mental list. I'm sure that once we begin the project, we will find others. And, I'll find out that there's something I left off this main list of our offerings.

Most of what we bring will be bare root, though, or just loosely planted in some soil, as we do not have a collection of pots.

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

I have 5 lavender moonflower vines. They are annuals, but very easy to harvest the seeds.

They are about 6" high now. Anybody?

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Do they smell wonderful at night? Those kind of moonflowers? Or just pretty?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I love Moon flowers Nanegoat66!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Louise, I'd like some HG.
Candyce, some siberian iris would be great.

I'm going out to see what I can bring. Liza, I will have some garden phlox to give.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Do you think after a lot of RU's we'll all have traded so much that our gardens will contain all the same perennials? David, don't forget the stuff that's not flowering right at this moment . . . I usually make that mistake, and we all know just because it's not flowering now doesn't mean it never will be.
