Abbis so far only gnomes have been scouted but driven_bonkers is scouting for Canadiana too. I think we're going with wood after poor Staynots mishap. I'll post a pic of Dave before he sets off on his Tour.

I feel so bad for Staynot, but with all the TLC he will get he will be ready to go in no time. Looking forward to him visiting me. Getting the place cleaned up so he doesn't know what a messy gardener I am. Enjoy all your visits little guy, hope to see you later on.

I do hope Staynot is healing nicely. I am so worried about the little guy. Went out to dinner with son and family tonight and would you believe it, before I could leave the store 2 little gnomes had hidden themselves in my bag!!! Said they heard I was going to have a visitor and it just happened to be a distant cousin of theirs. Small world!!
I have read about Dave and I do think the 2 should stay in touch--one touring Canada and the other the US. What stories, what pictures, what adventure awaits all of us!!
Funny you should share that abbis. My garden residents (Stumpy, Inukshuk and Ugly, Scarey Guy) are all excited about Daves visit. Stumpy has already bought a cowboy hat for Dave so he can fit in with the locals LOL! I think there will be alot of postcards sent to Staynot from Dave about his most excellant "Canadian Garden Tour". Next year we should talk about cross border visits cuz I think Dave would LOVE IT! We're a little hesitant cuz there can be border delays which would be drag but I think we would be willing to do it if you friends and Staynot can wait it out..Glad to hear Staynot is on the mend cuz we were worried. Kimarj is all over it as we all knew would happen.
That's right you are in Stampede Country aren't you? Lived in London for a year way back when--brother was a professor at UWO so I did a year there. Still go visit.
A trip across the border sounds perfect. What would a trip to the states be if you don't make it to Florida. Keep us in his plans for future visits. I'm use to having Cannucks around. My niece comes every year for about 3 weeks and oh my but the fun we have!!!.....and the trouble we can get into!
Inukshuk--that reminds me of some of the artwork I have gotten from my niece. What does the name mean or come from?
abbis an inukshuk is a figure made out of stacks of stone in the shape of a human figure used in the tundra in the arctic where there are no trees.The Inuit (the native people who live in the eastern arctic) have told me they are built for landmarks to find their way home to the community. Other schools of thought are that they are used to herd caribou but after living in the arctic for 13 years I tend to believe the locals. If Dave comes to visit next summer I'm sure Inukshuk from garden will want to come too.

Is it too late to request the presence of Staynot for a visit at our house? I showed DH the picture of Staynot with his broken legs, and he thinks we cannot possibly do any worse by him, unless maybe we dropped him on his head, which we promise not to do. We are using our vacation money to buy a digital camera in anticipation, unless camera prices go higher than gas prices. If so, we will borrow a camera from someone. Please can we be added to the list?
I'd like him to visit the other end of Tennessee! Can I play, too? Maybe I can take him to see the Mississippi River!

Pamgarden, you will have plenty of time to save for a nice camera before he gets around to you. Shadowpaige is starting at the top of the list and each person will keep him a week at the most then send him to the next person. So he will be slow in coming to those at the end of the list. But gives time to get that camera you want!

OK, Whatever time of year Staynot makes it to us, we'll be ready. We're near a ski resort if he arrives in winter, although his recent injury may make him a bit reluctant for that. They do have a big fireplace though where we could just hang out and view the scenery. Looking at his itinerary, he may be ready to just chill a little.
