posting photo problems

Wymore, NE(Zone 5a)

While trying to post pictures, I'm getting an error message, that I need to use the GIF, JPG or PNG format. I've posted pictures before, thought I was doing the same thing. Must not be tho.. Any help?
I should add, that I'm using a mac. What I thought I had done before was; Move the picture to text edit from an online photo company (York Photo Lab). Then make my post, click browse, then click the photo I wanted to add. Been playing around more, now I don't get the preview, with the error message even.

I don't understand what you mean by moving the picture to text edit? The rest about making the post and clicking browse and then choosing the photo is right. But there are a limited number of file formats you can upload, if for some reason the photo place is sending you photos in another format then you won't be able to upload them unless you can open them in your photo software and re-save them as a jpg or other supported format.

Sounds like 7oaks is adding text to the photo in a photo editing program but perhaps saving them incorrectly as you say ecrane.
I use the easy-to-use free Picasa for cropping, brightening and sharpening as needed and once those edits are saved, I either use the free IrvanView or my Canon editing program to add text to them. Not that this will help in your problem 7oaks, but there must be something in the steps you are doing in your editing program that is not allowing upload here on DG.
And sometimes just rebooting the ol' computer works! ^_^

I have a Mac too and all I do is click on Image: Choose File at the bottom of the post which brings up my folders where I have saved my photo's on my computer. I find the picture that I want to upload and click on it, click on choose and then I either click on preview right below this post or send (if I don't want to preview the photo I'm posting).

My photo's are all saved as jpeg images on my Mac.

If you've uploaded photos before then some format or something must have changed.

Thanks for your help. I will try some more later tonight or tomorrow.
