Muahahahahahahahahaha You just read my mind Sybil! I do believe that's the first Resin Stumper I've ever seen! Give that bird a special treat Sybil!

That woodpecker looks like a Red Cockaded Woodpecker that flew too far north.

LOL Sybil and Mrs. Ed!

Here is a pic of the Mama Kildeer with the Baby so you can see the size difference.

Stop with the cuteness Rose… I'm on overload.

Beautiful Debilu!

Beaumont, TX(Zone 8b)

Rose, they are both adorable. I meant to say something earlier when I opened the photos of the baby kildeer and something captured my attention before I got a chance to.

That has to be the prettiest baby bird I've seen yet. It's strange how they nest on driveways, etc. At least, I think it's the kildeer that does that.

Marlton, NJ

Very nice pic Debilu!

Beaumont, TX(Zone 8b)

That is a beautiful bird Deb. I've never seen one of those here in SE Texas.

Congrats Mrs. Ed on the kingbird...I have yet to get a decent pic of one!

I think the Eagle stole the fish because this Osprey was very upset with it.

Oh adel, that osprey is being awfully bold!

Nanny - those little chipping sparrows are very cute. They're some of my favorites.

Really enjoyed your photos everyone.

Far from the first time I've been stumped! Fortunately (for the sanity of the record books!) Red-cockaded can be excluded as that has a large white cheek. But it does look frighteningly like a Nuttall's (California only), though I think I can just see a black upper breast band on the mystery bird (which Y-b Sapsucker has, but Nuttall's doesn't), and one can also just see the white secondary covert bar of Y-bS too.

Thanks about the Kingbird, my first. Another first Eastern Phoebe according to Resin.

sorry about the blurriness. Maybe in a few weeks I'll be able to hold a camera straight again! DH was NOT interested in acting as a dolly for me.

I also saw a cormorant, but no pix. Will get some tomorrow.

Very cool shots Adel...must have been something to see!

Congratulations on the 2 new birds Mrs. Ed...those Phoebe's are so cute as are the Kingbirds!

Tiller, OR(Zone 8a)

adel, I am amazed at some of the things you witness! Gonna have to come visit you sometime. ;-)

I'm thoroughly enjoying everyones pix. I thought I had a great (sunny but windy) day yesterday with the Bullocks Orioles, and took a few hundred images. Later I discovered that nearly all were fuzzy, and was quite disappointed. Darn wind. They are such gorgeous birds.

Resin etal.................yes it was interesting to watch this battle. The Osprey and a pair of Great Blue Heron have nests nearby so they don't want this Eagle in the area.

Tigerlily............it would be my pleasure to show you around if you ever got done here, but Murphy's law would probably kick in and all the birds would go on vacation somewhere else..................I'm jealous of all the Warblers you see.

PERTH, Australia

I've so enjoyed everyone's shots. Woodpeckers are amazing. The shot of the Jay with bug is superb. That Bald Eagle wasn't going to be bluffed out of its meal, was it? What an event to behold, adelbertcat.

Tiller, OR(Zone 8a)

Tree Swallow...........180 degree turn. I knew owls could do this, but didn't know songbirds could.

adel, I may hold you to that one day! Not too worry, I already know Murphy quite well. ;-)

The warblers have moved on, I think. I saw them mostly at the willow thicket down at the creek. In April they were just everywhere there was water. You can bet I'll be waiting for them next year. Since the creek rehab began, I've seen at least 25 bird species I hadn't seen here before.

wow, and such a pretty blue!

FYI, over on the Bird ID forum, you can now mark your ID threads as closed (if you are the originator).

Wow...Tree Swallow is on my list too! I have been trying to figure out how I will ever get a pic of one.

Linthicum Heights, MD(Zone 7a)

Mrs_Ed, early in this thread you asked to see a photo of the Killdeer nest surrounded by the orange cones. I did go back today and she is still sitting on the nest. The eggs have been in the nest for at least 14 days. It normally takes 24 to 28 days of incubating for the chicks to hatch. I probably won't follow-up on the progress since the chicks usually leave the nest right after birth.

Here is a closer shot of her sitting on the nest ......
