Gail, that link didn't work. Here's where we came from: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/849584/

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Not only did I not be able to hyperlink but I forgot a picture, Lin...........thanks.

We went to eat tonight at a little restaurant with all homemade food and bakery. The population is only 400. While we were eating all this good food, we looked up and saw a sign that said, "You ain't going to see much in a small town, but what you hear makes up for it". We laughed and now I am ordering those styrofoam cups with whatever you want printed on them. I am going to use that quote and hand them out to all my friends who come to Taft and see me.

As a friend who was 21 at the time told her mother, "I can't come home tomorrow. You can't DO Taft in just one day".

South, TX

Gail, those quotes are hilarious!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I thought maybe photos would flood in so I ran and took a few pics tonight of some new streps from leaves (a couple of them are older). Hope everyone is in agreement that the thread was too long. I have a fast computer and it was taking over a minute each time to open the thread.

Sinningia 'Merry Christmas' is still opening up.......I am in love with her

Oldie but goodie, Shenendoah Shooting Stars with variegated foliage

I think I should have chosen another Spritual Corridor as her blooms are fading quickly

Although this is not a clear picture, I wanted to show how variegated her foliage is on (maybe Iced Wine????????)

I hope I don't get these mixed up as they are new plants from leaves. I do believe that this is Fernwood's Morning Sunrise.
Anyway feel free to correct me.

drats!! You do such a better job than me with african violets, especially the mini ones! She is perfectly formed with great symmetry. I am too sleepy to even think but someday you have to tell me how often you take the outside leaves off. I have some to show you and let your answer what to do with them......

Beautiful pictures to start my day, thanks Gail and Sally

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL everyone!
Gail, that Merry Christmas just gets prettier every day
Here is a new one for me, Alsobia San Miguel.
Brenda sent me stolons of 2 different Alsobia when I first found this group back in October. Being new to this whole genus, I struggled along and made LOTS of mistakes *lol* I look back now and think, OMG what was I doing? *lol*
Well, Miguel rooted but then started to show signs that he wasn't happy. I moved him here, I moved him there....still not happy. October, November, December (well, pretty much most of the year *lol*) can be VERY dry in Maine without any humidity to really speak of.
I was down to just 2 crowns and only a couple of leaves.
I found that $9.99 tabletop greenhouse and right away knew of a good candidate for it *lol*
Slowly but surely Miguel has started to make a comeback. He is actually rewarding me with a couple of arms in which I will try to root the stolons this winter
It has really been a GREAT learning lesson and Brenda I can't thank you enough my friend
I think he is just BEAUTIFUL!

Presenting.......Miguel

Very Pretty My Friend
Good Morning to you.......you're up early

I was just doing the "rounds" my friends and it looks like we have LOTS of nice "love connections" going on among the streps
So far I see 3 crosses that have "taken" and are showing signs of pregnancy
This fall I plan to start a thread called "She's having my baby" *lol* where I will show pictures of the mother and the father crosses. Then everyone can "adopt" the seeds from the crosses they like and foster them this winter *lol*
Crosses that I'm making now should be ready about Sept/Oct so be sure to stock up on your seed starting mixes
Hopefully we had 2 more "love connections" this morning
Luvin' it!

Kim
