Wow, anjl, your dh won't have any problems selling stuff. You guys should just retire now and get up here and get started. LOL
There are places for sale in Woodinville, too. ^_^
Senior pictures
I sorta grew up I LA, hate the city, will never move to the Seattle side. Love the country side, when this area gets overpopulated we will move. And that is manys years away where I am. You can only buy parscels of 2.5 or more in The Valley.
I'm with you, Mary. Woodinville is the country side, too.
I have been there for a day out with a friend he was my best friend, we did road trips together (Have to say this, we where both married to current spouse's at the time, very good friends, no hanky panky going on, he passed away 6 years ago And I lost my best friend have not found another) many years ago and yes you are in the out back , would someday like to see it again, I remember a dinner by the railroad tracks and the bike routhe under it with the horse trails, love it, but I don't think I could ever leave where I am. I am how, How do you say fitted
Going to visit Marysville this month
well, wherever we end up... we want at least 8 acres. and we were really happy with Port Orchard.... so we are going to start looking there, problem is IF I have to work, work will be down in Olympia... :o( but we still have plenty of time to figure it all out :o)
Tee hee, I told my DH I have 'orders' for him on DG and he gets all excited! LOL! those projects really were fast and easy for him and he's amazed people would want them... course I show him pix of fairy gardens and lil gnome gardens and now he thinks we are all nuts! LOL! But I think he'll be buzy in his shop all winter making lil sellable things now! LOL!
Keep 'em busy and out of trouble. That's my motto. I bought my DH a nice kepboard a couple of years ago. He can't do much because of a bad heart attack, but he has a ball on that keyboard. I'll be watching for 'lil things'.
oh mine never sits down... I'm not even certain that our tv still works! lol. he works 8 hr days at work, then comes home and is building something, or planning something, or doing something constant until about midnight when we drop and start all over again.... I dont think he could ever be bored...way too many hobbies! lol!
Lucky you - too many hobbies is better than none, or TV as a hobby......
By the way, I have an 8' stump that is screaming for a really large bird Hotel, or something along this line. Plus, a few nice trellises, LOL...
He will be in high demand up here with his excellent skills/designs.
Actually - anywhere there are gardeners!
Kate - post a picture of your bird house with the spigot, would you? That's a great design - more ideas for anjl's dh (and for us!!).
And those faery doors are just so cute that I think they'd go like wild fire.
MMMM Port Orchard Skip and a jump for me. LOL
Gig Harbor and Shelton are good areas to, close to Olympia.
My DH is a tinkerer but goes overboard with most projects, have storys on that, more like overdo it.
lol tills! I had no idea your near Port Orchard!
I am going to go there on this trip...take bunches of pix to bring back for my DH I havent been up to Port Orchard for about 6 or 7 yrs? so I'm sure its changed alot!
yes kate... I wanna see the bird house! DH is going to make one for the top of my tippy pots...after he gets done with all these other projects! LOL!
we got all the wood for the arbor cut out today...hopefully get it all built tomorrow! whoo hoo!
nite all!
cocoajuno. That is so cute! What do you plan to plant up it?
Nice to see a picture of you too. You seem very happy about your new arbor. I would have a big smile too if I was sitting there!
great job!
cocoa...that is so cool! are you going to have planter boxes attached to the sides?
DH decided NO gates on my arbor :o( --we'll just put up baby gates to keep the puppies in the lower level when needed.... too hard to attach them to the arbor with the fence there..
all the wood is cut and sanded...just needs to be assembled! hopefully I'll get a pix up tonight!
anjl, If you are going to work in Olympia there is a lot of inexpensive land in Mason County where I live and from Shelton it take 45 minutes of easy driving down #101 into Olympia. Much better than the I-5 corridor. Port Orchard is getting built up rapidly and it would take about 2 hours to Olympia Just FYI
yes, sis is in thurston co. and works for the same company, so my other option would be to live in or near Gate and commute to work with her. I really dont wanna have to work tho! LOL! When I go visit in a few weeks, I'm going to look at some of the areas.... we still have plenty of time before we can even make the decision :o( I'd rather move tomorrow! LOL!
Carla, that is just to cute, will it fit both are rumps, LOL mine is a little wider LOL
Anji, How far north have you been on the Peninsula? P.O. is 30 Min. from me, Willow is 45 min. Sherie is 45 min. in the opposite direction, and Neo is less than 5 miles. and can not forget Heidi who is 15 min.
I like this spot, not far to go anywhere, just don't do it in peak hours.
lol! I camped all over the penninsula... its just been a while! I was just talking to my sis and we figured it out...was back in summer 2001! Just doesnt seem like it was that long ago :o(
I'll be bringing my son with me and he hasnt been there since he was 4 yrs old !! He's 12 now... so he is in for a real treat! LOL!
This is how far we got on the arbor today :o(
You go Wonder Woman, they look great.
hope to see you when you come up, keep us posted.
Thanks Bea, anjl, and Tills....yes it will fit us both Tills, John and I sat side by side on it...lol I was trying to keep it a secret until the 16th but I just couldn't.
The planter boxes are nice square cedar boxes and I will grow Chocolate Vine (Akebia) on one side and a Clematis on the other with my Granpa Ott seedlings thrown in too so it won't be naked this summer.
Love the plant shelfs..isn't it fun to make things from leftovers...great job!
lol, Yes it was fun... DH wanted me to 'draw up plans' but as soon as I saw the wood sitting there... I knew what I wanted and it was really simple :o) I just teased him and asked if I should build a lil model first! LOL!
Messing with a mans point in life, to please his wife, mmm could be bad, but when wife says I'll do it. just step on males ego.
Half the time that don't work either. They go the other way.
Anjl,
Great start on the arbor...looks like you had sun today! We didn't have rain, but we were so cloudy..our high was only 55, so sad for June...but it wasn't dripping...Hip Hip Hooray!
Anjl ~ Do you have more of the "scrap" lumber? Sheesh...my scrap doesn't look anything like that! The shelf is awesome and the arbor is looking good.
Carla ~ Love the arbor bench. I can picture that in my Quarter Acre Wood with a pretty little climbing somethingorother all over it!
Hi Tills ^_^
Great pictures anjlsmom. Good lookin' couple
Great pictures, love the clothing style in the second, such a classy look! Thanks for sharing!
lol, mom probably made those clothes herself...knowing her!
hey mom, how come I dont have copies of those pix?! where did you find them? scan em and email em to me ...please?!
I still like the picture I posted of her better! LOL! Dino bones and all :oD
Okay... a funny story....
Every year my mom and I would take my kids to an Indian powwow on Mothers Day. One year, my daughter was about 4 yo and as we were leaving the pow wow, my daughter asks me (in front of my mom) "Mom, was granma alive when the Indians were alive?!" tee hee hee! well of course my mom starts pinching herself ~ just to make sure she's still alive :o) then she told my daughter that she was part indian too.... of course my brilliant daughter wanted to know exactly which part of her was indian :o)
Thats a funny story, loved it
tills, have you done your paint party yet?
No, it may not be this year, the way the weather has been. No worry (right) I wanted it done so bad, guess I have to wait. LOL
Thinking about that story, made me think about the time I ask my grandmother where we came from (I am part Cherokee). She told me the other side of the water thats all I ever got from her. In my young pea brain, at the time I'm thinking ocean. Where did they live over the ocean? Many years later I found the real truth by reading a book.
The other side of the water was the Mississippi river, "The trail of tears" She never talked about her grandparents or theirs. So the buck stops at Grandma.
oh wow tills! I just wanted to cry when you said that! I guess it would have been really hard for them to talk about it :o( I too wish more of my 'history & heritage' was passed down. at least some of the stories and such...would have been nice :o)
I tryed to go back as far as I could, and hit a brick wall, now on my fathers side was a little the same. German My great great grandparents where German immigrants. and hit another wall.
Hows that for a cross German and Indian with a little Irish tossed in the bucket LOL
lol! Mine is indian and scottish... clan of clans! lol!
High Ho
Anjl's mom - darling pictures. You two were soooooo young - just babies.
