Thanks, you made my day. LOL
^_^

Nice picture. You're a scanning fiend. Give the girl a few tips and before long she's running the show. Hah.

I have my picture in my yearbook of course, but not in digital form. If I can remember, I'll see if Kinko's scans photos and then do mine. I was in the class of '78, so we all had our own versions of Farrah Fawcett hair.

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Fun idea - I'll have to round one up.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

oh gee... I hope my mom doesnt see this and scan that horrible pix she has of me! she insists on hanging it on her wall for everyone to see too! LOL!
I'll have to see if I can find a better pix before she finds this!

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

My high school picture was terrible. My Mom even asked me to go and have it retaken. I never did. Just picture Marsha Brady as a brunette. I was so groovy! Class of 75'

outta..love the flip hair do..but it is a cute picture. Mine was similiar with the black turtle neck & necklace but my hair was long & staight and yes, parted down the middle. My head was contorted to one side and I wore my glasses. Gosh it was aweful! Aunt Bea from
Mayberry RFD looks better than that picture in 75.
Annmarie..keep digging. the 80's were an interesting time for BIG hair! Love to see your photo..

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Sheri - Nice picture!!!

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Nice Outta. Beahive, the lettering is right over the picture, it is hard to see you.

Katie, my daughter graduated in '79 and had long straight hair parted in the middle. Then she left it long and frizzed it. Massive!

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

It is a picture of "Aunt Bea" from the TV show Mayberry RFD.
I'm not that old..Do have some gray hair however..LOL
Maybe this pic is better to jog your memory. These are copyright photo's ..that's the best i can do. Look nothing like her

LOL. Pat, my hair's massive on its own - lots of curl, body and frizz. I spent hours straightening it with a blow dryer and curling iron.

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

I think Aunt Bea is very cute. I just couldn't stand the sound of her voice.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Opie..Andy..time for supper. :)

But I move into county.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

tilly, my mom too loved to sew and design clothes. every year at christmas each of us four girls would get a shoe box full of barbie doll clothes that she designed herself! all of our friends were so jealous! Our barbies had fur coats and mini skirts with leggins long before they could buy theres in the stores! also, our had colors and designs that they could never get! :o) LOL! oh fond memories... wish I still had kept some of those psychadelic-colored flowered barbie doll pants!

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

My Mom gave me a bag of Barbie clothes to give to my niece, that she had made, when the time was right, She is 5 now, so not ready maybe when she is 9.

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

I remember making doll clothes for my dd's and I look forward to doing for my new little granddaughter. Mom made me some wonderful things too. I enjoy sewing still but for myself forget it, it never works.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

:o) I seem to out grow any clothes for myself before I can get them done! LOL! guess all that sitting and sewing makes certain areas grow!

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

I made Barbie clothes and furniture for my daughter. I also made her clothes back when they wore hotpants. ^_^. I did it until she told me to stop, around7th grade. My mom did the same for us. I've tried to make clothes for myself but it doesn't work.

I also sewed for my kids and their dolls and have made stuffed animals for grandkids . . . everything always turned out really good . . . except for things I made for myself - they always looked poorly homemade!!!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

lol, I dont even try making for myself anymore! I taught myself how to crochet this winter and made sweaters for all my relatives, made layettes for my new grandson, even made a couple of teddy bears... all perfect...cept the sweater I tried to make for me...cats now use it as their bedding! LOL

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

I can relate to that, love to crochet, projects never get finished, LOL
Started a Navajo pattern for a afghan, Ha in the Kitty's bed, they like more.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

I started to crochet a baby blanket for my neice back in 1990. She is now graduating from HS. Maybe I can finish it one day when she gets married and has children of her own. ;(
I also have a wonderful needlepoint pillow with Bee's. With my problems with carpal tunnel last year (had the surgery & things are better) and the eye's seeing tiny things..I may have to take this one to heaven one day to finish...
Loved my Barbies when I was young. Made their clothes, made funiture (cardboard & paint) and they even had a home made house.
(stacked wood crates). It was great back then. Times were simpler than now.

Eugene, OR

This thread has brought back many memories. Mom used to make DS and I a new dress and pajamas for Christmas and she did matching ones for our dolls. And she made it a project to get a doll from the community center that you cleaned up and made clothes for, then took them back to be given out to the less fortunate, we made that a 'our' project.

I learned how to tat this last year, I always wanted to learn and a friend talked me into taking a class at the Senior center with her. She dropped out, I'm still at it.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

I too always thought about taking a class on lace... its still on my to-do list :o) I took oil painting last year and loved it! photography is next :o)
Bea, I bought a bunch of yarn in December, when I learned to crochet. I was going to make an afghan for my couch. Then I found DG and all my energy is going into gardening! LOL! Yarn still sitting in the closet :o) may be a winter project when I cant garden, although I doubt it cause I'm known to garden year round! LOL! seems every time I have a new hobbie, I do it to extreme. eventually I circle back round and pick up an old hobby again, but I can never seem to balance them all at once! LOL!

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

This is weird how we all do the same things. Maybe it because we have been looking for our bliss and gardening is it. Do you think so? I'm ready to clean out my crafts and stick to gardening, reading and maybe birdhouse painting.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

WW - i think it's because we have a need to create something 3-dimensional. For those of us in the northern areas, we switch from trowels & pruning shears to knitting/crocheting needles & sewing shears!
Oh - forgot: we also spend winter with our faces in plant catalogues, dreaming & cogitating new spaces to conquer.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

lolol! I think its bcause we all MUST create! Its a creation thing for me. I love creating scenes with oil paints, love creating beautiful spaces in my garden, love creating and designing doggie clothes for my fur baby. For me its about color, textures, designs, etc. And when I'm not doing those things, well then I am creating nice spaces in my home :o)
I have a wacky habit of painting walls inside my home different colors. My family thinks I'm nuts, but the funny part is... they dont even notice the walls until someone points it out to them! LOL! You should have seen my poor DH's face when I had him paint one of the bedroom walls brick red, one warm walnut and the other a creamy beige.... but no one noticed the walls once the room was decorated, and now DH loves the room! LOL!

We are so full of creativity, In all forms. We can not let are hands or Minds be Idle, must do something any thing. and the challenge to do it.

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Great thoughts gals.
