When you build pens for your ducks and geese, don't forget they fly! AND, night critters will come in and get them! Sometimes a fox will venture out in the daytime, if it's hungry. Try to put a top on the enclosure! That helps!
Audrey
PS: I hope I'm not sounding off to much, it's about all I have knowledge and experience with, and I just want to help to keep you from making mistakes that I made!

still no donut for me. but fo rbirthday party had the Schwan'sBrowine Ice Cream Cake with M&Ms.... and after kids went out for their outdoor sleepover, i snuck some Schwan's Dream Ice Cream...

Foley, MO

Girl, you need to stop! That sounds soooo good and it's much too late for me to drive half an hour to get some decent ice cream, LOL! Thanks for the congrats! How was the party??

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

not over yet, have to return the sleepover oby on the way out. he just lives down the street. his parents will be so proud he FINALLY slept over. he was so fascinated with all the animals he didn't mind helping the birthday boy with his chores, and then came over to check out milking the goat. he wanted to try. not as easy as it looks, i guess. then i shoed him how NOT to do it, and squirted him good! he tried again and got it, then tried the other side LOL. they slept outside by the pool, only one is up that i see...

Peter said it was his best birthday party ever. darn sure a good excuse for DH to clean up the extra building materials from the yard LOL, so it LOOKS like a yard!

the baby inadvertently shared his corn dog with a kitten, got that on video!

no wi get to spend the day loading and unloading water and livestock feed, and driving 150 miles. what joy..... but, they gotta eat and drink i suppose...

it's nice that Schwan's delivers, i would have to drive more than 30 miles to get good ice cream. luckily i dont eat it too often, i am big as a barrell as it is LOL

tf

Foley, MO

Well, thumbs up for mom and dad. It always feels good when you do something the kids REALLY appreciate! I bet it was funny watching him milk that goat. I myself have never had the pleasure, but certainly wouldn't pass up the chance. 150 miles, wow! And I thought I lived in the middle of nowhere, lol!

Columbia, TN(Zone 7b)

tf I think I'm going to take a nap. I'm plum worn out from all You have to do! LOL

MollyD

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

so nice of you to help me out. so refreshing knowing that somewhere somone was taking the time out for a much needed rest....

Columbia, TN(Zone 7b)

LOL

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

thought of you today. i didn't get a nap but soaked in a tub of cold water and white vinegar to drain the heat out [i am very sensitive, almost allergic, to the sun and heat].... hoped that if you had a rough day you could have the nap and i could have the soak...

Luther, MI(Zone 4b)

TF, I am right now using a poultice of white vinegar + a crushed up aspirin to remove some of the acid from my skin that causes me to have a rash in the "fat" areas of my body. My doctor told me about it. He is "Native American" and he told me his grandmother used to use this. I tried it on a rash I had on my foot, and it really worked.

I, too, am allergic to the sun and heat. (that is one reason I could never live in the south), so I am almost willing to try something that might work. Hope your weather gets cooler so you can be more comfortable. And, now I see why you haven't gotten any sleep.

GG
♥♥

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Granny, I'm so glad you posted that info! I have a terrible time with heat rashes. I know buttermilk works, but your way is much cheaper! Thanks
Audrey

Luther, MI(Zone 4b)

Audrey, I have just tried it for the first time today. So far, so good. I also use Gold Bond body powder for mine and that works good too for heat rash. Helps to keep it dry.

GG

Columbia, TN(Zone 7b)

GG do you apply it in spots or rub it in?

MollyD where the weather isn't hot at all. Feels like late March or early April.

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

prefect timing, guess who else got as heat rash? and i'm out of vinegar. the store didn't look too inviting today, they had torn up 2/3 of the parking lot and the rest or the balck tar was crowded. the donut shop was lcosed, and as a last ditch effort to have supper [when we thought power wouldn't come back on] we drove by to see what the special was at the pizza shop. they are closed for "vacation and remodeling". which also means no video rentals. told DH feels like the town is falling apart. but we got a new feed store, they just dont 'have any feed yet!

WIAT ALL IS NOT LOST, I HAVE BUTRTERMILK, but it is frozen LOL.... thanks Doe

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Granny, my Dr. told me not to use powder of any kind.
Guess who's got it again!!!!!!
TF, chip off slivers and apply! That'll help cool it down! No kidding, put some chips in a damp wash cloth and keep refreshing it and applying. You'll tell the difference the next day.... Do this till you're ready for bed, rewet it just before, and if you get up during the night, do it again. You might want to put a little piece of plastic to keep your clothes dry/
