It even knocked over my bench, now that is a insult.
Update on Woodland
Annie, went out and look at some of them I have BUDS. Happy Happy.
Can't belive I have some tiny flowers on my Dark Star, or should I say 1 bloom on it, Hey is a start, its Happy. Was Posted on Carlas tread.
The other side. mix with my Australian Mint bush (which has blooms), roses ,cornflowers and many others.
Buds! Those are some happy daylilies. Don't know what you have for soil, but they are doing much better than they did here. I'm looking forward to seeing how badly I guessed at labelling their heights/colors :) Easy enough to move them though.
Wow, you had way more wind than us to blow over your bench. We had some power flickers and the cable was spotty, one lightning and thunder clap (such a thrill) and another 2 inches of rain. My dahlias are sending up requests for life jackets.
Annie - I was worried that you guys would have snow, what with the freezing level coming down so far and all the news reports of snow last night up in the passes proper. Sounds like you stayed with the rain.
Oh no snow, but thank you very much for thinking of me. It is just cool and very wet. We had no choice but to stay with rain! There's no escaping it until, dare we say, tomorrow? I like the sounds of the term from another thread "Junuary." Very appropriate. All those T shirts, sleeveless tops, and shorts I just unpacked from Fall will have to wait a couple weeks.
I heard the new word "Junuary" today too - the visiting nurse who came to see DH told us. I like it. Don't like what has caused it, but like the term.
Mary, your Woodland just gets better and better - sorry you had such wind, though! We had some, too, but not as bad as sometimes. Six miles away from us they had horrible wind and hail . . . amazing that we didn't get it as they are more in the rain shadow than we are - we usually get worse weather than they do!
Junuary - very descriptive. The poor maples had a rough time last night - they don't usually have leaves that catch the wind when it's blowing hard. I have maple trees with leaves that look permanently inverted after last night.
Tills, your woodland is filling in so nice! How is your Purple Haze doing?
We had winds clocked here at 50 miles per hour, it knocked over my temporary fencing and you should see my Lupine, it looks like a deer laid down right in the middle of it... as for the Iris well down they went except for the ones that have not bloomed. I am hoping the Lupine will straighten back up otherwise I will have to cut it to the ground and let it begin again.
We had hail falling harder than I have ever seen in WA, almost as tho Randy Johnson was throwing them...lol The weird part was how the wind was not blowing in one direction, it was very circular here.
I enjoyed it because I love thunder storms and the cloud formations were fabulous. If the sun would have came out like it does in other areas after a storm it would have been perfect! BUT I AM TIRED OF RAIN AND COLD!
Thanks all wish I can see it when I get home at night. Went to take a pic of another iris that I saw blooming outside my window, but got rushed out of here cause we had to move the cars the scrap lumber truck showed up at the wrong time, just took of to work.
Purple Haze, Needs some TLC, Plants are going good, as so the weeds LOL
Blooms on one of the Clematis, I need to check back on the time it bloomed last year. its the first bloomer the other bloomes later.
Wow that is a lot of blooms! Looks good!
This thing is covered, it blooms twice a year Its 'Parisienne'. The Jackmanii will bloom next. Of course who knows this year LOL
Be sure to post pictures when it blooms... I was talking to my sis in Az and she said we need to pack up the rain and send it her way, I told her we would all gladly send it her way if she sent us some sun!
I'm packing LOL
Heres the Noid, I wanted to take yesterday, I posted it in the wrong tread. LOL
This has been a day on pins and needles, The big Cheese from Calif, was here and visiting all the stores (wish I knew how to make a unhappy face). Was here for 3 hours, Hope we passed.
Need to go nite nite, have to be up a 3:30 am, to open The Boss has a meeting. Glad its not me LOL
