Thanks Willow, when are you coming? LOL
Just think we could have a ball. Have Valley Nursery just down the road. Salvage Nursery then hit Heidi's. then enjoy tea. or tea first?
Then lunch.
Steve, I guess that warm spell we had woke Tiger up, went out this morning to put the plant Gordon gave me in a safe spot just in case it got to warm out, had to run back in to grab the camera. Almost miss my boat. LOL
Update on Woodland
Tils, if you were any crazier-in-love with plants!!!!! I just had to chuckle at the choice of photograph or get to work on time! Good choice.
That is one of my prize babies, one of the ones I spent the most money for, because Steve had to show me his and I had to have it, LOL
Can't wait to see all the things he said it would be. now it is no longer a stick, it has life. ^_^
Yes, but knowing you, you'd continue to love it even if it remained a stick! You softie.
Your place is amazing, Tills - and I suspect you will come up with yet another fabulous idea for this area! You obviously do have green thumbs, too, as your rescued plants are flourishing.
It's really coming together Tills!
Hi Tills,
Everything is looking great! How nice your area would have been for shade last weekend...lol I so loved it and did not want shade! but I am sure many would have loved to be in your woodland area! I have been very busy, I decided I wanted a veggie garden and now have 4 raised beds for food...lol I have many dahlias to plant still but am well on my way to new veggies and flowers!
Keep the pictures coming..... Think SUMMER...,
Carla
Tils is that sawdust you use for mulch? I'll get over there one of there days.
Yes, it also helps to hold moisture, works real good. DH gets are fire wood from construction scraps. and cuts it up to the size we need for the wood stove and any good lumber we save. thats where the border in woodland came from.
I think your DH is a woodworking wonder. My dad was like that. Could look at it and make it. The last thing he did was make a card table with inlayed woods. It had 2500 pieces and represented all kinds of games on the four sides. He was really neat.
No, wrong If he made a puzzle he would get lost in it. LOL
Willow - do you still have the card table? What happened to it? 2500 pieces, that's amazing. What patience.
Well we were a split family for the last 50 years and it went with the others side. I don't know who has it. My sister has a small chest the he made when he was on the Oklahoma in WW2.
Oh, too bad. It would be so great if you could have it or at least see it again and know that it's being taken care of.
Hey, I just remembered I have a picture of it somewhere. Will have to dig it out and scan it.^_^
I wonder if Dad's still do things like that? My father has always been a maker/doer - at times just drove my mom nuts! One day he decided to extend the house and off he went - took months and months and mom's jaw was just rigid with 'hummpyness' - largely because he was making it up as he went along - but it was, and is stunning. Even made a beautiful front door to go with it which sadly they finally had to replace. He did beautiful finish and had exquisite taste (they both did - and that is definately past tense! don't know what happened there - but at least I got a great education in modern aestheticism).
Did'nt know where to post this, so I pick my own. this has nothing to do with Woodland.
But was really cool to see, I have been commuting for a little over a year on the ferry 5 days a week. this is the first time I have seen this, saw them all the time crossing the Hood.
This is leaving Kingston. on May 30th
tilly.. I feel your pain on the flooding. I have the neighbor behind me who will not put in any type of drain to stop the run off from his property to mine. This is what I have coming into my yard.. have spent a small fortune for surface and french drains..but on some days it is not enough to prevent flooding. It is making me crazy! He started to fill the trenches in last week because he wants to do the landscaping. I screamed so loud when I heard the backhoe! Gave him a piece of my mind & called the city again. They have not returned my call. This has been going on since I moved here in Oct 2006
This is what I have coming into my yard every time it rains..
