Here are 2 Blue Asago Willow blooms from today. Another pretty vine!

Second bloom on Kohkan. The bloom is about the size of a Hibscus bloom. The color is outstanding! Believe me when I say this ... the photo does NOT do it justice. (Can you tell I am a little bit partial to this vine! lol) Look at that beautiful foliage. It is already half way up my arbor and is such dense growth that I almost didn't see the blooms hidden in all that thick foliage! THANK YOU, PAM for the seeds! :-) This one is a keeper and shall be gracing my garden from here on out! I am madly in love with this vine! Whoo Hoo!!!!

Becky, All of them are very pretty, but that pink Kohkan is just beautiful. Be sure to save some seeds on that one. : )

Thanks, Lucy! Oh ... you better believe it! I will be hand-pollinating that one for sure! I want lots more seeds! And ya know I will share too! This vine is everything I hoped it would be and MORE! It is exactly what I was looking for! Gosh! I can't believe I got the perfect vine! I say perfect ... this is exactly my dream vine ... LARGE reddish blooms, variegated foliage, dense growth, and a fast climber. Did I leave any other quality out??? LOL! This vine rocks MY world! :-)

Hi Becky,

Your Kohkan is out of this world! Please keep me in mind should you have any seeds to spare at the end of the season...

Enjoy your day,
Elsa

And, here is a bit of red to balance out . . .

Nichole - Love your vines. What is the first one? Can't believe how tall yoru dracula is!!! Very nice. Do you get hummers coming to your Cypress vine?

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Becky - the first one is a Chachamaru. I haven't noticed alot of hummers yet - at my place, anyway! I've seen one or two at my mom's, though (she cheat - has a feeder!).

Pretty blooms Nichole

I need help . . . I'm fairly sure this is I. hederifolia var. lutea, but can't be sure, since just past the seedling stage, DD decided to rearrange all of mommy's little pots, and take the tags out . . .

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I can tell you this . . . I put the seedlings into the big 5 gallon pot just two weeks ago, and it just took off! I try to keep it winding around the plastic fence, but it's beating me!

Here is a closer look at leaves . . .

Here is my bloom shot for this morning.

I am constantly amazed at how fast the I. wrightii is growing. I don't know how well this picture will look, but the shot is the connection between the two 10' pieces of pvc on my homemade trellis . . . the tallest vine is about 2" from it!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Every day I go out, and it has sprung side vines that stick out a foot or so, and so I tuck them into the fencing . . .

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Lovely, Nichole! The I. wrightii will cover the arch in no time at all! How cool! Be sure to show us photos when it does! Love the leaves on that one! Your purple and white blooms are very pretty. What cultivar is it?

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

I sure hope Antoinette checks this thread! I got a gorgeous 1st bloom from one of her crosses. It sure is an eye-popper! It was labeled Blue Tie-dye X Fuji no Sora!

Becky - it is the Aomurasakizyouhantenshibori. These blooms are from the seeds I started on purpose. But, in the area I grew them in 3 years ago, I've got 3 volunteers. You can see one has grown up one pole of the tomato cage, another is growing up the pole of the metal thingy, and the third one is off to the side and only a few inches tall - just under the second walking stick kale.

You know . . . I am seriously considering adding another section to my trellis! Just need to go to Home Depot for more cement!

Wow, Becky, that is very nice!

Becky - that Blue Tie-dye cross is gorgeous!

Nichole - lovely Aomurasakizyouhantenshibori blooms! I started a bunch of those from the seeds you sent me last year. I might even plant them in their final container today...

Joanne

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Nichole - I looked through my seeds and found some Aomurasakizyouhantenshibori that I got from Sylvia! I will be plantting one of the seeds out in the next crop. :-) Thanks for showing yours and reminding me how beautiful they are! :-)

Thanks, Joanne! Keep your fingers crossed that it produces seeds!

Y'all know I will share any and all seeds I get from this year's vines! I don't hold any back because they'll just go to waste if not planted. I only grow a single seed of each cultivar during each grow-out of vines. I am growing them along the picket fence and I can already see it is going to be an issue to figure out what vine/seed pod is which. I need to find some of those straws that Antoinette used last year. Time to check the dollar store. :-)

Becky, I agree with Joanne, the Blue Tie Dye cross is a beauty.
Pretty blooms Nichole and gardenpom

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Gardenpom - Nice blooms! Cute little light blue bloom! :-)

Jackie - Thanks! I can't wait to see yours and everyone else's blooms. It is soooo hot here right now I can not believe it. I bet it is 10 degrees warmer here than last year at this time. Whew!

Mesilla Park, NM

Great flowers everyone...

Becky, thanks for posting photos... I really like them and so sorry I haven't posted much, have company for another week, then my son and grandson will be here right after that for a week or so.. then I can start taking photos.. I will be feeding like mad. (then I will have more company for another 10 days in July... and August.. normal for me I guess..lol, but very hectic. We try to cram years of activities together in such a short time.

I'm always doubting that the crosses took, so it is refreshing to see them flower from seeds... and then it makes you understand which parents produce what.. it's something to see that others have the same things at times. It is such a neat experiment for me to do this.

Jackie, I'll be better later taking photos to post..

you all take care..

A.

Nichole - Nice spot for your vines. Looks like it gets some shade! Your vines look great!

Gardenpom - Lookin good there!

Well, like a big dummy ... I posted all my daily photos from this morning on the wrong thread:

The vine half-way up the arbor on the left side is Kohkan. It's got some very lush growth on it. The smaller vine on the other arbor side is also Kohkan planted a month after the first Kohkan. The vine is just perfect. Can't wait for lots more blooms from that one! You can see all the other different MG vines growing along the picket fence. They seem to be really taking off now. It's so nice to see that many MGs again! :-)
