Tropical garden #10
Kimarj ~ not all Ruellia ~ Mexican petunias would look good in a hanging basket. This was my first and spills over the edges well. I do not know which one it is. A down side, in a basket, it will have a chance to spray seeds far and wide!
Ruellia Katie is pretty potted when mixed with another spiller...
Very pretty! I will give it a try and see what happens. I f I don't collect the seeds i'm sure old man winter will : } Thanks.
Kim
Hi ,Pod. and Kim
Sunshinesw, your adenium collection is totally awesome. I was trying to pick a favorite, but I like them all.
I have just the one plant and it has two very gangly branches. Should I give it a trim, or maybe a little more sun? I really do not know very much about the except that they are cool looking plants.
Hi Rita, Thank you! I just love those addeniums. I would give a trim. Dry the cuttings a day plant them in a pot, mist until rooted.
Candela, there are a lot more varieties but I just don't want to start collecting because I am doing that with too many plants LOL.

the orange one above is a clerodendrum (speciosum i think). they are nice but they are kind of a weed around here. they send off babies like the shooting star clerodendrums. i am forever digging them up.
i messed up the name in that post it is a medinilla
podster thanks for the name of the mexican petunia i have a cutting from a neighbor. i thought it was some type of ruellia
rita this is the mussaenda. soft fuzzy leaves. this is a cutting from my mother in laws in puerto rico
For the Adenium, give them a trim, and put it in full sun all day. It will take off. during the summer, you can water them almost daily to speed their growth along.

I just love mussaendas. Haven't seen in several years. Yours is beautiful!
Candella, can you give me growing tips on the mussaenda, I have a red one and one like you have in the photo.
Shade? water intake simple things...I'd like to put mine in the ground.
Hi Rj, that's a nice interesting picture. It looks like a princess flower in the front and a bougainvellia blooming in the back of your Eryithina Bidwilli. Is the common name "firemans' cap"? If so, I have one,but not in bloom yet. We have been having exceptionally cold nights, which is not good for blooming tropicals, they are taking forever.
